Happy to know that AFA participated in the relief effort!

**AFA Disaster Relief Update — Garden Grove, California**

AFA Disaster Relief was grateful to be able to help provide immediate bird-care supplies during a recent evacuation connected to the chemical incident in Garden Grove, California.

Our role is limited, but when aviculturists and their birds are displaced, even basic supplies like food, perches, and temporary care items can make a real difference.

Thank you to Link for sharing his update, and thank you to the AFA members whose support makes this kind of assistance possible. We are relieved to hear that the evacuation has been lifted and that Link, his family, and his flock will be able to return home.

AFA does not provide direct monetary assistance, but we remain committed to supporting aviculturists and birds with practical disaster relief supplies when we are able.

It feels like summer and the NC Peaches are at the State Farmers Market! I love this market. It’s only 1 exit from my home and there is an organic farmer who has 9 parrots!!! Watch for a sale on Tropical Fruitty and Peachberry Cones and Muffins later this week!

It was an awesome Bird Fair! I sold out by lunchtime and won a ton of goodies for both Diamond and me at the Raffle. He also got a lot of attention at my table. We educated a lot of people about Derbyans.

The 2026 Bird Fair was a definite success, despite the unpredictable weather this year. In some ways, it encouraged people to stay longer and talk to each other, share experiences and explore what the vendors were offering, talk to the members who brought their own pet birds and ask questions to the vets that were also there. AND there was an awesome raffle of all kinds of bird and non- bird related items. More pictures will be added to the album as we receive them! This is just one of our vendors
