We lost a truly special woman and a treasured member of our rescue family, Jan.
Jan was the kind of person every rescue dreams of having on their team. If a kitten or cat was in need and (even dogs even tough reluctant) all it took was a phone call. No matter the time or the circumstances, she was ready to go to the shelter at a moment´s notice to make sure those little lives had a chance.
She opened her home and her heart to countless kittens and cats over the years. Many of them came to her scared, sick, or unsure of the world, and she gave them exactly what they needed - patience, safety, and love. She would foster them for as long as it took to find their perfect forever home, never rushing the process and always putting the animals first.
Jan never did this work for recognition. She did it because she cared deeply. Because every life mattered to her.
Her husband stood beside her in this mission, and together they made an incredible team. The two of them helped save and change the lives of so many animals that otherwise may not have had a chance.
Our rescue, and the many cats and kittens whose lives she touched, are forever better because of Jan. Her kindness, dedication, and compassion will never be forgotten.
While our hearts are heavy at such a great great loss, we take comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on in every life she helped save and every family that now has a beloved pet because of her. We will miss you terribly Jan. Thank you, Jan, for everything you gave. You were truly one of the good ones, and you will be deeply missed.
We hope you´re reunited with all the baby kitties lost too soon and especially Louie & Odin both laying on your chest. Love you always and you will be forever in our hearts. Until we meet again. Love everyone at FABS Rescue.
