Today, along with the entire Wenatchee Valley community, we are devastated by the tragic loss of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia Decker. These beautiful girls were taken from us far too soon. Our hearts are broken for their mother, Whitney, and we send our deepest condolences to her, the entire family, and all who know and love the Deckers.

There are no instructions for how to pick up the pieces from something so unimaginable. As we’ve done before in the face of heartbreak, we hope to find strength in coming together. (Morning sun helps too...)

Did you know that babies need exposure to sunlight in the daytime hours to help regulate their circadian rhythms?

After 3 months of age, babies start to develop their own melatonin cycles and need light to help them distinguish the rhythms of the day and night.

Then when darkness (or your artificially darkened rooms simulating darkness at this time of year) hits, babies will be ready for a longer stretch of sleep induced by the melatonin release.

How can you help? Lots of light during the day, particularly sunlight in the afternoons, can help your baby regulate the sleep patterns of night sleep that parents so desperately want for their own brain function.
