Just four donkeys, their breakfast, and a quiet morning on the farm. ❤️

Some of the best moments out here aren’t the big ones—they’re the slow, peaceful mornings spent watching happy animals enjoy the simple things.

🌟 June Resident Spotlight: Jumper 🌟

Meet Jumper, our beautiful miniature mare with the flowing double mane and a heart as sweet as can be. Before finding safety, Jumper survived a neglect situation and was rescued alongside several other mini horses. Thanks to the dedication of local rescuers and loving caregivers, she got the second chance she deserved.

Today, Jumper spends her golden years at Black Dawg Farm & Sanctuary enjoying soft brushes, plenty of attention, and life with her herd. She’s proof that even after a difficult beginning, a happy ending is possible.

When the itch hits just right. 😌

Katelin demonstrating the farm-approved back scratcher system. No appointment needed, available 24/7, and apparently highly recommended. 😂

Resident Spotlight ✨ Triscuit ✨

That tiny little bray? 🫏☀️

Just Triscuit wrapping up his morning ‘where’s my breakfast?’ announcements.

Fun fact: Donkeys use their brays to communicate with their herd — and their voices can actually carry for miles!

Resident Spotlight ✨ Triscuit ✨
Unlike horses, donkeys are known for stopping and thinking before reacting. 🫏
That “stubborn” reputation? It’s actually because they’re cautious and intelligent animals! Triscuit likes to make sure every situation has been fully evaluated first. 💛

Resident Spotlight ✨Triscuit ✨
If there’s one thing Triscuit loves, it’s a good chin scratch. 🫶 Since arriving at the sanctuary in February, this sweet boy has been settling in beautifully and showing us more of his personality every day.
