Happy 4th of July from the Clark Animal Hospital Family!

While we look forward to the spectacular local fireworks, we also know that the big booms can make it a stressful night for our furry patients. 🐾

❤️To keep your pets safe, happy, and calm this Independence Day, the Clark Animal Hospital team recommends these quick tips:

🏡 Create a safe haven: Keep pets indoors in a quiet room with a TV or white noise machine playing to drown out the fireworks.

🍔 Watch the picnic plates: Keep BBQ scraps like chicken bones, onions, and corn on the cob far out of reach from curious noses.

🆔 Check their IDs: Make sure collar tags and microchips are updated just in case a sudden loud noise causes them to bolt.

🗓️ Holiday Hours Reminder:

Our hospital will be closed on Saturday, July 4th and Sunday, July 5th in observance of the holiday. We will reopen for regular hours on Monday, July 6th.

Since we will be closed in observance of the Holiday, please use this quick checklist tonight and tomorrow to keep your pets safe and comfortable:

🔒 Keep them strictly indoors: Even if your dog loves the yard, bring them inside before dusk. Loud booms trigger a flight response, causing pets to jump fences they normally wouldn't.

🏷️ Double-check ID tags: Ensure collars are secure and your microchip registry has your current phone number. If they do escape, this is their ticket home.

🚫 Skip the table scraps: Onions, garlic, bones, and fatty barbecue foods can cause severe stomach upset or toxicity. Stick to pet-safe treats!

🎶 Mask the noise: Close all windows, pull the blinds, and turn on the TV, AC, or a white noise machine to drown out the sudden explosions.

🚨 TODAY IS YOUR LAST CHANCE FOR MEDICATION: If your pet requires prescription calming aids, you must call us BEFORE we close this afternoon. We cannot refill prescriptions or take emergency calls while closed this weekend.
