🐮 We may not see cows here at Riverside Veterinary Clinic, but that doesn’t mean we don’t mooo-st certainly appreciate them!

Today we’re tipping our hats (and stethoscopes) to the gentle giants who give us milk, cheese, ice cream, and endless farmyard charm.
💛 Here’s to the cows that keep us smiling – even if we only see them from the other side of the fence.

Drop a 🐄 in the comments if you love cows as much as we do!

🔥 It’s Too Hot for That Quick Stop 🔥

Even with the windows cracked, a car can become deadly in minutes. On an 85°F (29°C) day, the inside of your car can reach over 100°F in just 10 minutes—that’s enough to cause heatstroke, brain damage, or even death in your pet.

🐾 They can’t cool down like we can.
Dogs and cats overheat FAST—even a few minutes alone can be dangerous.

Never leave your pet in a parked car. Not for groceries. Not for a quick errand. Not even in the shade.

✅ If your pet can’t come inside with you, leave them safely at home where it’s cool.

🎆 Planning for the Fourth? Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute! 🎆

Fireworks and festivities are fun—but they can make some pets nervous or anxious. If your furry friend needs a sedative or calming help for the holiday, please give us a call ahead of time to make sure we can fit them in and keep them comfortable.

We want to make sure everyone has a safe and stress-free holiday—so planning early really helps!

Thanks for understanding and keeping your pets calm this Fourth of July! 🐾❤️

🚨 Pyometra: A Life-Threatening Emergency for Unspayed Dogs and Cats 🚨

Did you know that an unspayed female dog or cat can develop a serious, potentially fatal infection of the uterus called pyometra?

This condition often strikes suddenly—usually a few weeks after a heat cycle—and it requires emergency surgery to save your pet’s life.

⚠️ Watch for signs like:

Lethargy or depression

Vomiting or lack of appetite

Increased drinking and urination

Vaginal discharge (sometimes not visible with a closed pyometra)

A bloated or painful abdomen

⏱️ Time is critical! If you notice these signs in an unspayed female, contact us immediately.

✅ The best prevention? Spaying your pet. It eliminates the risk of pyometra and prevents unwanted litters.

📞 Have questions or want to schedule a spay? Call Riverside Veterinary Clinic—we’re here to help your pet live a long, healthy life! 💙
