Surrendering a furbaby when cannot support him is hard! But the firefighters in the Dallas/Fort Worth fire department saw a need and were able to meet it! They are still accepting donations to continue their work!

Well good news all around on the duck rescue side.

Wobbles, the duck with the broken wing was caught at the reservoir and brought to us. Because the broken wing has been injured so long, there is not an emergency situation so he will be dropped off at Avian and Exotic Animal Hospital on Tuesday, January 14 for surgery to remove the dead parts of the wing. He’ll become part of the disabled flock and live his life out protected from predators.

Cupid, the duck shot through the bill with an arrow, has been suffering this injury since Christmas so his situation is also not an emergency as he is eating and drinking enough to stay healthy. He’ll go up with Wobbles for surgery to remove the arrow. Depending on his prognosis he will be released either to the duck pen or the disabled duck flock. Since he can fly, it will be his choice to stay or go.

How is your night going?
I’m duck sitting literally, she won’t take a bath. I drained the tub using a pipe to open & close the drain since I’m not suppose to bend & of course I did to plug it the first time.
Gary found her stuck in the mud, this rain needs to stop.
