🚨 Screwworm Awareness: Stay Vigilant! 🚨
At ZebrasRus, we are taking the screwworm threat seriously—for the health of our animals and yours. We are grateful for our outstanding veterinary team, who keep us informed, prepared, and stocked with the proper treatments and supplies should an issue arise.
The key to combating screwworm is staying ahead of it as a community.
⚠️ Remember: ALL animals are susceptible—not just cattle. Screwworm can affect horses, donkeys, zebras, camels, deer, exotic hoofstock, pets, and wildlife.
🔍 Check your animals regularly: • Inspect navels on newborn animals
• Look closely at cuts, scrapes, wounds, and surgical sites
• Check both sides of every animal during daily feeding and care
• Monitor for unusual swelling, drainage, or fly activity
📞 Talk with your veterinarian now and develop a plan before a problem occurs. Early detection can make all the difference.
We all have a role to play in protecting our livestock, exotics, pets, and wildlife. Stay alert, keep checking your animals, and don't hesitate to seek veterinary guidance if something doesn't look right.
Working together, we can help protect our animals and stay ahead of screwworm.
