Today marks our 2 year anniversary! Since this month is also my son’s 1st birthday month, I thought it would be fun to share pics of him and some of his doggy guests!

All of our guests have been great with Weller, but there are a few that really, really love him, and it is precious to see!

Pet sitting has looked at lot different this past year, but I have the best guests and parents to make it all worth it! Thank you for the continued support!

This past weekend was a treat! Meet Charlie!

Charlie was found abandoned on the side off the road in Tennessee last fall while my friends were on vacation there. They brought him back to Illinois after determining there was no owner to claim him. They found him a fantastic mother and Charlie is thriving! He is estimated to be 1.5 years old and he is a Great Pyrenees mix!

This was Charlie’s first time at boarding and he was perfect! He was well behaved and listened to commands well. He was happy to lounge with the seniors or run with the young pups. His only vices were shoes to cuddle with (not chew on) and beef jerky from the counter to slobber over. He LOVED Weller! He actively seeked him out to lay next to. Ideally, the guests don’t care about Weller and do their own thing, but it was sweet to see a dog so loving and gentle with him.

We fell in love with this gentle giant and look forward to taking care of him again soon! We appreciate his mom for the trust and business!

We had not one, but TWO new kiddos this weekend! Phoebe is a 1 year old doodle and Blu is a 1.5 year old blue heeler border collie mix. They both did great for their first time in this type of setting. Phoebe started off shy but curious and quickly gained her footing. Blu acted like she has been here a dozen times before!

Both were great and gentle with Weller but Blu was extra attentive and made sure to let me know that she wasn’t impressed with my parenting if he started fussing 🤣 I never felt so judged in my life LOL! Blu was a big help soothing Weller!

We thank their families for the trust and hope to see them again soon!

Remember these newly adopted traumatized, terrified cuties that I shared several weeks ago?!?!? Let me reintroduce Duke and Daisy!

Their mom, Henry and I worked diligently to get Duke and Daisy comfortable at my home through short daycare stays, with gradual longer days and an overnight stay to get them ready for her big vacation.

When they first started coming to my house, they mostly stayed by the front door and barked and whined for their mom. They only let us touch them occasionally and would be hot and cold with us at any given moment.

I’m proud to say that by the time they stayed for a week, they were COMPLETELY different dogs! They were both my shadow, and if I went upstairs without them, better believe they would wait by the base of the stairs until I came back down, patient as ever. Not once did they bark and cry for their mom by the front door. NOT ONCE!!!! They got along great with all the dogs and were especially sweet and patient with Weller! They often would lay on his mat next to him and lay next to his legs in bed (brave, we call him kick’n chick’n for a reason!)

I am so proud of their growth and proud I got to be a part of their journey of getting comfortable with new people and places. They are sweet and fun dogs and I’m glad they trust us and allowed us to see more of their shining personality. We love them and they love us! We look forward to taking care of them again!
