We would like to thank the Copeland Family Foundation for their generous donation to fund the new Quincy Police Department Animal Control Unit Transport Vehicle.

The Quincy Police Department's Animal Control Unit operates two vehicles to transport abandoned or injured animals to and from the newly constructed City of Quincy's Animal Shelter. The vehicle that was funded is critical for the Animal Control Unit to provide rescue and veterinary services. The new vehicle replaces a fifteen-year-old vehicle that had greatly exceeded its service life.

The City of Quincy's Animal Shelter's mission is to advocate for animals by providing safe refuge until forever homes can be found for these often abused and neglected animals. To date, the Quincy Police Animal Control Unit in complete partnership with the Quincy Animal Shelter Volunteers (a non-profit organization with over 100 active volunteers) has placed more than 5,000 cats and dogs into loving forever homes.

We recognize and thank the Copeland Family Foundation for sending donations each year to the City of Quincy in support of the Quincy Animal Shelter. Your continued generosity has been a major contributor to the success of the City of Quincy's ability to protect these highly needy and vulnerable animals.

The purchase and recent fielding of the new Animal Control Vehicle has already quantifiably contributed to the City of Quincy's shelter animal welfare programs.

We remain grateful to our outstanding community partners such as the Copeland Family Foundation.

UPDATE‼️

OCTOBER 6th FOR CATS!!! As the date gets closer we will post sign up information.

We were very excited to have the Spay Waggin here today performing spay and neuters on 16 dogs!

They will be back at the Quincy Animal Care Center on October 6th for our first cat day here with the Spay Waggin! We will also have them back on October 20th for another dog day. Stay tuned for updates.

Appointments for October at our location will not be posted until closer to the date. To make appointments please visit: the Spay Waggin at ARL website.
