AT RISK! OMG I was not prepared for the utter sweetness that is FOXY!! She is EVERYTHING! On our first encounter, she treats me like a long lost friend, climbing into my lap, giving kisses and rolling over for belly rubs. She fetches balls and toys, sits for treats and plays like a puppy much younger than her estimated three years. Every squeak gets those majestic ears way up and her happiness is infectious. I am so looking forward to the next time I can interact with her, she is so so special.

Foxy was found by police with a number of facial wounds consistent with a dog fight. Most of the cuts and punctures have healed, but Foxy is very nervous around dogs and that’s amplified being in a shelter full of them. At times, she can be heard shrieking when she sees them and has growled and lunged when they are in view. She is at risk for these reasons. Foxy is available for direct adoption to someone with experienced with anxiety and dog reactivity. She will do best as the only dog in the home at this time. Foxy is approx. 37 pounds and her id is #253886

Sargento is everyone’s dream boy. He is classically handsome, unbelievably sweet, and a makeshift heated blanket. His face is to die for, and he is so playful and silly. While we wait for his photoshoot, he plops in my lap and rests there for as long as he can, getting in all the love and cuddles he deserves. He sneaks in kisses to us when he can to remind us he needs all the extra love. He had lived with 2 adults and 2 children ages 4 and 16. He has been friendly, playful, and outgoing with all. He had been housetrained, and his favorite thing is to be with his family. He knows sit and stay and enjoys car rides. Sargento is a year old and his id is #241459

Zeke is just a big old teddy bear. He is in good shape, cuddly and so so handsome. Zeke was found tied up at the 11th street A train station. Zeke is 2 years old. When we first meet him, he is clearly stressed by his new surroundings. He warms up slowly and is happy to get pets and love, but isn’t really forthcoming with his personality. But the next week when we meet him he is much more open to sharing more about himself. He wiggles up to us, rubbing against us and even showing us his excellent playing! After he gets a few rounds of fetch in, he is happy to show us all his tricks too. His shyer personality is well worth the wait. Zeke has had mixed reactions to dogs at the shelter. At first he was avoidant. Later, Zeke is introduced to a female dog and he is soft and wiggly, displaying bounces and play bows, but he became frustrated when the other dog was avoiding him. Zeke’s id is #241260
