A little bit of a crazy day personally and professionally, we added a visit for an emergency situation. Mr. Tucker had a back injury last week and is paralyzed on his hind legs. Today was his owner's first day back to work and she was so worried about him so I got the call to please help and that's what we did!

Thankfully, he was in good spirits and being a good boy. Colleen will be taking over popping in on Tucker until we hear she is not needed.

This is an Sonoran Desert Toad AKA Colorado River Toad! Poisonous to dogs and people! They come out in wet/monsoon conditions.

If your dogs licks them, make sure his head is pointed down to flush the toxin out and to not allow any more to be ingested. Finally, call your vet, as this would qualify as a veterinary emergency. While there is no antidote for toad poison, some of the life-threatening symptoms can be treated.

"If you have river toads nesting in the yard, safely remove them while using rubber or surgical gloves. Next, spray them directly with PEST AWAY SPRAY and place them in a holding container so you can relocate them at least 2 miles away. Of course destroying them is a viable way to get rid of them as well."

Ironically, my friend is getting surgery on her pinky finger because her golden retriever jumped up and jammed her finger back in February. It's still a hot mess!
