Another wonderful yr over and another one starts. Some of you I've known for years, some for a just a bit. I'm grateful for every moment and grateful for each and every one of you. Truly feel blessed. The best thing of starting a new year is wondering what new clients and their pets I get to bring into this little business of mine. I truly love you and all your pets.

Do you wonder why cat grooming is more expensive? Obviously aside from the bites, scratches and the special handling. Cat bites are much more prone to infection than dogs. You almost always need to see a Dr right away from a cat bite. Cats mouths are so much more bacteria. You can lose a limb and your life from any infection but has happen more with cats than dogs. Take a look at these scars from just a tiny cat bite. 🐈 Meow

A note from your pet groomer:

I’m tired. My body hurts everywhere. I have hair splinters in every or***ce of my body. I have to regularly see a chiropractor/massage therapist just to keep my body healthy enough to continue doing my job. What I (we) do isn’t easy. We don’t just hang out with your pets and have a grand ol pet party. Remember sometimes we get bit and get peed or 💩 on.

What we do is hard. There’s a reason why you pay us to do it, and it’s because you know that it’s hard and don’t want the hassle of doing it yourself. This is our livelihood. This is how we pay our bills and feed our families (my fur babies to be exact). We understand that times are hard with the economy and money is tight. It’s the same way for us too. We are individuals trying to make it in this world, just the same as you are.

We take our time to ensure that your animal is kept comfortable and given the best quality of care that we can give, so please don’t rush us. Circumstances are different for each and every pet. Your perfect pet that has never shown you it’s teeth doesn’t like being in a strange area with someone other than their owners touching them. You tell us that you brushed your pet thoroughly and that there are no mats, but we find mats in the areas that you didn’t realize needed brushed. Your matted pet is most likely going to leave with irritation or nicks and that’s not intentional. We never want to hurt your pet.

Services and upgrades that we recommend to you are not because we’re greedy. We recommend them for the betterment of your furry friend. When we suggest a timeframe to come back for another appointment, it’s not because we want you to continuously spend your money, but because we know the outcome of owners who wait too long to bring their pets back.

The pet I took on, for the first time (with a picture of exactly how you envision them) isn’t going to look the way you pictured. Your pet is experiencing so many new things and we’re trying our best to make it positive for them. Similar concepts apply to senior pets.

The comfort and safety of your pet is our number one priority. You may want your pet to be left long and fluffy, but sometimes that’s not what is best for them. We don’t shave your pet because we want to, and we don’t do it because we’re lazy. De-matting your pet is hard on them and hard on us. Trying to brush through mats that are down to their skin is inhumane and damaging to their hair/skin.

The price we charge, again, is not because we’re greedy. We only see a slight percentage of what you pay. Our tools need maintenance in order for us to provide our best quality of work. We have to buy new tools and equipment because over time, they wear down. We purchase products that assist us so that we can ensure your pets come back to you looking wonderful, smelling great, and feeling like your favorite childhood teddy bear. Inflation raised those services and products for us as well. Not to mention gas prices.

We appreciate all of our loyal customers who are understanding, caring, and patient with us. We are thankful for our clients who stay by our side despite our flaws and bad days.

I’m tired. My body hurts everywhere. But, I love what I do and I love your pets. Each day, I wake up and choose this job because it brings me joy. I’m a work in progress who is trying to improve every single day for the sake of you, your pets, and myself.

9/11 was a day that those witnessed it will not forget. The confusion, terror and shock we felt is not so easily forgotten. It was a day where time stood still. I will never forget. Bless the families who lost loved ones.

Not my words but exactly my sentiments.

Next time you are booking a grooming appointment for your dog and the groomer is booked out, whether it be 2 to 3 weeks or 2 to 3 months, I want you to remember a few things:

~Groomers put up with a lot.
~We are overworked.
~We are generally and genuinely underappreciated.
~We push our bodies to the brink. Especially our wrists and backs.
~Our work is intensive and laborsome.
~We can only groom so many dogs in a day.
~We are artists with a special skill that not everyone has.
~A lack of prior planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on our part.
~It is hair. It grows back.
~Grooming is expensive. We already know it costs more than your haircut. You do not get your entire body shaved and you certainly do not p**p on your hairdresser or bite them.
~There will never be enough groomers to keep up with the amount of dogs needing services in this country.
~If you treat your groomer poorly, they can and will fire you as a client. 💯
~We treat your dogs like our own and love your dogs like our own.
~We cannot ever promise you that nothing bad will ever happen. That isn't a promise we can keep. But we CAN promise to always handle any situation that arises appropriately and quickly.
~This career takes an immense level of passion and compassion.
~Grooming is a fulfilling and wonderful career full of beautiful moments.

Most importantly, I want to remind you that you can be the bright spot in that groomers day. YOU can be the difference between them being accused of being an awful person and being the person to make them smile. Please be kind. Your groomer is doing the very best that they can every minute of every day.

I've been on vacation and unable to do much business. If I failed to reschedule you or you're a current client needing services again. Please bare with me. I will be back by 4th of July. And will resume trying to navigate my scheduling to best serve you.

If any new clients are in need of services. I am not accepting any until my faithful clients are sorted and pets groomed. I'm expecting that to work itself out towards the end of July early August. I have limited availability as it is.
