We have had a super year with the dogs, some nice wins in the show ring, some fun dock diving and fast cat competitions, and even learning some new things like scent work (and doing our first dog-friendly 5K)!!

Also very exciting, Truly is expecting puppies in a couple of weeks! We are looking forward to black and chocolate pups. Two weeks ago the Labrador Retriever Community was shattered by the passing of Tina Donahue of Quail Chase Labradors. On a personal level, Tina was a dear friend and mentor to me. I really don’t have words, only that the world was better with Tina in it! I wanted to post because I have been blessed and honored to carry the Quail Chase bloodlines in all of my dogs and our most recent litters were from their beloved Jolly and Titan. Tina personally came to my home (over an hour drive) and evaluated my “Jolly” litter to help me choose my “keeper” pups Winslow and Sedona. Tina was a warrior, battling cancer for over 13 years! You would never have guessed it when you met her though as she always had a smile and positive attitude. All of those who have one of our puppies share in carrying on the legacy that Tina built alongside her husband, Duke. Labrador Breeder Friends… would love to know your thoughts on these two puppies. One was considered a show prospect and the other a pet. I just think they both look so similar at 6-7 weeks, I want to figure out what I’m missing.

This VERY sweet, big boy is looking for a new home. He is neutered and up to date on shots and deworming. He is an absolute joy to have around and if I had more space, he would be staying! He has basic obedience training and was started in hunt training as a young pup. He needs a family with a yard and that will include him in as many activities as possible. This sweet, beautiful boy is looking for a family to love! He is almost 3, up to date on all shots/deworming and is neutered. He’s a big guy weighing in at 85lbs and needs someone who is comfortable with a big dog, although his house manners are amazing and he has fit in with my dogs and routine perfectly. He has some basic obedience training and was started on water retrieves (ducks) as a young pup. He needs a yard and someone who will include him on their adventures as much as possible. Stunning almost 3 year old, chocolate, male Labrador available. Dash is neutered, up to date on shots/deworming, has basic obedience training and was started on water retrieves (ducks) as a 6-month old pup. He is as sweet as can be, but big and strong, so looking for a home that’s prepared to handle an 85lb dog and can provide him additional training/socialization and lots of opportunities for outdoor activities. My little hooligan Winslow (Jolly x Lina) finally got his win picture! He was Winners Dog two of the three days (but I only got one picture) for his first 3 points towards his AKC Championship at just 7 months old! So happy with this guy! Big thank you to the judges that chose him!

I don’t know if I’ve ever cried so many tears for one of my dogs, but there were certainly a lot of them today and probably more to come. Until we meet again my sweet Lina! I know you’ll be loved beyond measure and have the best life with your new family. Even better than I could have given you. Thanks for all the adventures and for being the best momma to your babies. There’s a special place in my heart for you always. 🥰 Be a good girl!

***UPDATE-LINA HAS FOUND AN AMAZING HOME!
This amazing and lovely girl is retiring from our program. She is AKC Major Pointed, has all her health clearances and is looking for a semi-active family to call her own. She just turned five. She produced three beautiful litters of puppies and is ready to be the center of someone’s life! She loves to go on adventures but also loves her little spot on the couch. She is super sweet and loves all people. She is playful, but doesn’t have a ton of drive for dog sports, hunting or retrieving. She would be an excellent obedience/rally prospect or would LOVE scent work. She would also be a good candidate to be a therapy dog. She is not free. This pretty girl is looking for an active home to be loved and spoiled at. She is AKC Champion Pointed, OFA hips excellent, elbows normal, and clear on all genetic testing for Labradors. She has basic obedience started, loves dock diving and fast cat and already has her AKC Farm Dog title. She was started on duck retrieves as a pup and was exposed to gun fire, and land and water retrieves. She is 2 1/2 years old and ready to really go places with someone that has the desire to focus on activities with her. I would love to see her continue in companion events or hunting as she has the drive to do whatever you want. She will be spayed before she leaves or will be on a spay contract. She is a really special girl and I will be picky about where she goes. She is not free. One is a retired show dog and momma from our program. She is 5. Will do amazing with an active family. The other is 2 1/2 and started on ducks.
