🎓🐾 SERVICE DOG GRADUATION! 🐾🎓

A HUGE congratulations to Amelia & Loki for officially passing their Public Access Test and graduating from our Service Dog Program this week! 💙

The dedication Amelia has shown throughout this journey has been incredible to watch. She has put in the time, the work, and the consistency to build an amazing partnership with Loki, and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this milestone with them.

And Loki truly is a dog who does it all! 🐕✨

❤️ And, most importantly, a pretty amazing family dog and best friend.

One of the things we love most about service dogs is that they are still dogs. They can have jobs, enjoy sports, compete alongside their handlers, be part of the family, and have a life filled with so much more than their working role.

Amelia & Loki have grown tremendously as a team, and passing their Public Access Test is such a well-earned accomplishment.

Please help us give these two a HUGE congratulations on officially becoming a graduated service dog team! 🎉🐾

🎓🐾 AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Graduates! 🐾🎓

What a fun way to celebrate National Dog Day! 🐶❤️

Today we wrapped up another wonderful AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy class, and I’m so proud of these puppies and their people! Over the past several weeks, they’ve worked on building the foundations for happy, confident, well-mannered dogs and today we got to celebrate all that hard work.

A special congratulations to those who also earned their AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title today! ⭐️👏

Puppy class is about so much more than teaching sit and down. It’s about building communication, confidence, engagement, life skills, and a relationship that will continue growing for years to come.

Congratulations to all of our graduates! 🎓🐕 You and your pups did an amazing job, and I can’t wait to see where your training takes you next.

👃🐾 INTRO TO SCENT WORK - WEDNESDAYS! 🐾👃

Looking for something fun to do with your dog that works their brain AND their nose? Our Intro to Scent Work class is a great place to start!

Scent Work is an awesome activity for dogs of all ages and experience levels. It helps build confidence, provides mental enrichment, and gives your dog an outlet to use one of their most powerful natural abilities, their nose!

Throughout this class we’ll introduce dogs to the foundations of AKC/UKC style Scent Work, including building value for odor, developing independent searching, handler skills, and beginning searches in a fun, low-pressure environment.

💛 A little thank you for your patience with me lately.

The last couple of weeks have been a bit of an adjustment. After losing Ozzy, I’ve found myself stepping away and disconnecting from social media more than usual. We were also fortunate to sneak away for 4–5 days of camping with no cell service, which was a much-needed chance to unplug and spend some time together as a family.

Since getting back, I’ve been slowly working my way through emails, Facebook messages, texts, scheduling, and everything else that piled up while I was away. I truly appreciate everyone who has been patient and understanding while I catch back up. ❤️

If you’re still waiting to hear from me, I haven’t forgotten about you! I’m working through everything and hope to be fully caught up by Friday.

I’ll then be stepping away from social media again for the weekend for a much happier reason — our little guy is turning ONE! 🥹🎉🍕 We’ll be soaking up that milestone and focusing on family for the weekend.

🤍 Remembering Ozzy | 7/19/14 – 8/8/26 🤍

Today we said goodbye to a very special boy and a huge part of the heart and history of Guynup’s K9 Services.

For so many of you, Ozzy needs no introduction. For years he was my demo dog, training partner, service dog, coworker and constant sidekick.

Ozzy was there as this business grew from a dream into what it is today. He helped me learn and grow as a trainer, demonstrated countless skills for clients, helped other dogs learn, and introduced me to so many different areas of the dog world.

He also had quite the career of his own from the show and performance world to commercial production and product modeling for companies including Subaru, Starbucks, Trupanion, Amazon and more. He truly did a little bit of everything and took us on one heck of a ride over his 12 years. 🤍

But more than anything, Ozzy was simply our Ozzy.

So much of what I know, teach and have built with GK9S has a little piece of him in it. I’m incredibly thankful he was here long enough to see all that we have done in the last 9.5 years of business.

Today his tired body was ready to rest, and he passed peacefully surrounded by love with Charlie by his side.

To all of our clients and friends who have met Ozzy, trained alongside him, watched him work, followed his adventures or simply loved seeing that big majestic Aussie around thank you for loving him too. If you have any photos we’d love to see them in the comments 🐾

There will never be another Ozzy. His legacy will forever be part of GK9S.

What an incredible day! 🐾💚

Today we had the honor of welcoming the Puyallup Valley Dog Fanciers to our new facility for their AKC Sanctioned Match, and we couldn’t be more grateful for how the day turned out.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and spent the day with us! We were thrilled with the wonderful turnout and are so appreciative of all the kind words and positive feedback we received throughout the day. Seeing our arena and grounds filled with dogs, handlers, families, and friends is exactly what we envisioned when we began this journey. Hosting one of our first larger events in our new home made today even more special.

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, meet new exhibitors, and watch handlers and dogs of all experience levels come together to learn, practice, support one another, and celebrate this incredible sport.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Puyallup Valley Dog Fanciers, our judges, stewards, volunteers, exhibitors, and everyone who worked behind the scenes. Events like these truly take a village, and we’re so grateful for every person who helped make the day such a success.

Our goal has always been to create a place where dogs and their people can learn, grow, compete, and build lasting friendships within the dog community. Today was a beautiful reminder of why we love what we do, and we are so excited for everything still to come.
