Mixed media is my category, okay. Yeah, I'll do that. I never bothered to call it that back in the early days. I just did it, for 35 years now.
These creatures are being fabricated once again to tell a little story...Freaky Fraidy Cat, Funky Chicken, Busy Bee & Low Rider Kitty. I'm cooking up the Colour Stories now in my head, in my mind's eye. I imagine a whole room based on that piece, from walls to furniture, painted of course. Lol. Prep is crucial...cutting the creatures out on my scroll saw like I did back in 1989, the very first time. Preparing the vintage frames properly. Background panels cut & primed. Then? Here I go! 🚦😊
I'm Judging the Fine Art at the Fair again!
Is this fine art? I think it's pretty fine, but I may be biased. I was told a long time ago in a gallery where I was showing, 'You straddle the fence between Fine Art & Craft.' Hmmm. Okay, urban folk artisté? But a fine one? I've always been hard to put in a box. Don't want to stay too long in there. Just wait till I start coloring all this in!
