MISSING DOG
Posting on behalf of Tracy Ramos:

For those in Putnam, Thompson, West Thompson, Woodstock area (Connecticut)……..

My dad’s dog Judge, ran off this morning at the West Thompson Dam. My dad walks him there daily but allowed him off leash and Judge seemed to have other plans. 😒
My dad parks near the church and he last saw Judge walk around the building. He loves riding in the car so he would more than likely jump into a car if asked. He’s a large dog, Rottweiler/Shepard mix, a very sweet boy. He’s wearing his harness and is chipped. My dad notified the Ranger’s office and the dog pound but I know he’s worried. So please keep an eye out and for those in the area PLEASE SHARE and tag any organizations or people that you think could help. 🥺🙏🏽

Anyone who knows my dad knows how much his dogs mean to him. 😢😔

Thank you!!!

Putnam works hard to help CT stay clean. The Arc ECT partners with many local businesses to collect bottles and cans for donations to help with this effort. You can find our donation bins at the Putnam Dog Park at 18 Kennedy Dr., Harvest Moon Healthfoods located at 554 Liberty Hwy., also at the Lofts at Cargill Falls Mill on Pomfret St. and the Putnam Police Department on Church St. For a list of all our other bin locations or to request a bin for your area, please visit https://www.thearcect.org/donation-station

Most vet hospitals in our area (CT, MA, & RI) are under dire strain due to Covid-related lack of staff. This morning - and likely through the week - we are only able to see critical emergencies. Phone hold times are in excess of one hour. Emergency appointment wait times are in excess of 10 hours. Please contact us by email ([email protected]) for non-urgent concerns.

You may be able to find help more readily elsewhere (the situation shifts daily). As of 12/31 AM:
Connecticut Veterinary Center - Seeing critical cases only
New England Veterinary Center - Hospital full / can see outpatients
Veterinary Specialists of CT - Seeing critical cases only
Pieper Memorial Emergency Vet - Seeing critical cases only
Central Veterinary Hospital - Open with 12 hour wait
Veterinary Referral & Emergency Center - Open with wait time
VCA Shoreline - Seeing critical cases only
Veterinary Emergency Center of Canton - Open with 6 hour wait
Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital - Seeing critical cases only
Newtown Veterinary Specialists - Seeing critical cases only / may close
Ocean State Veterinary Specialists - Seeing critical & surgical cases
Avon Veterinary Emergency - Open with wait time
Cornell University Veterinary Specialists - Open with prolonged wait time

Veterinary medicine has reached a crisis point, locally and globally. Help has become difficult to find when needed. Covid does harm pets... Not necessarily by infecting them, but by limiting access to medical care.

Emergencies are not completely random. Often, they are predictable and preventable. Please, do everything you can to keep your pets safe.

Please share.

Hoping to find the gentleman who was at the park around 11 this morning with a white chihuahua. The dog bit a young boy and his family would just like to make sure the dog is up to date with his rabies vaccine. If anyone has any information please message us ASAP. Thank you!
