Took the weekend trip to the Virginia taxidermy convention. I enjoyed it and learned a lot! We won at the auction for a day for me to spend with the very knowledgeable waterfowl taxidermist Shawn Powell at his shop in the next few weeks and to say I am excited is an understatement! I think I will learn a ton of knowledge from him. It was great connecting with people from all over. It was great seeing my instructor Casey who judged the fish & reptile entry’s.
I went in thinking I wouldn’t place, they talked me into entering at professional level so I would get the most critique and constructive criticism, for my deadhang black duck and I ended up bringing home second place! 🏆 I can’t wait for the next for one!
