Hidden Hills Ranch is a nonprofit educational rescue ranch in Prunedale, CA offering outdoor classes, pony & horse riding lessons, seasonal camps, and animal-assisted, inclusive experiences. Classes, day camps, and events are offered incorporating ranch animals, hiking trails, amphitheater, horseback riding arenas, campfire area and pond. We strongly believe in the importance of education for our

youth and families. We strive to make learning fun while teaching respect for others, animals, and the environment. We have activities planned throughout the year. We are also available for class/organization field trips, and birthday parties. All cash donations and in-kind donations of professional services or physical items are tax deductible. 🐾 Meet Scout, our New Ranch Mascot (and Protector-in-Training)! 🐾

There’s a new set of paws on the ranch! Everyone, meet Scout! A half Great Pyrenees, half mutt pup who’s already stealing hearts 💛 At just 12 weeks old, Scout is beginning his training as our guard dog, watching over our petting zoo animals and learning the ropes of ranch life.

Scout’s arrival also means our beloved Copper, the golden retriever you all know and love, can enjoy a well-earned retirement from full-time ranch duties. At 11 years old, Copper’s arthritis makes it harder to be out all day, so he’ll be staying cozy at home for the majority of the time while Scout takes on the role of protector and future ambassador for the ranch.

We can’t wait for you to meet Scout in person and watch him grow into his big, fluffy boots. Drop him a 🐶 in the comments to welcome him to the Hidden Hills Ranch family!

We’re thrilled to announce that Bubba Pickens will be returning and bringing the tunes to this year’s Hoedown at Hidden Hills Ranch! 🪕🪗🎻

This Monterey Bay-based bluegrass, folk, and Americana group blends soulful harmonies, lively acoustic strings, and a whole lot of heart. With deep roots in jazz, blues, gospel, and old-time folk, their sound is both timeless and toe-tapping.

We weren’t expecting this week to feel so heavy. 💔

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our sweet horse Emoji. She was small but mighty, often winning competitions and being the favorite at camps and lessons. Last year, she underwent surgery to remove cancer from her eyelids, but it sadly returned and spread to her brain. There was no cure, and we made the difficult decision to let her go peacefully. She was deeply loved, often requested, and will be dearly missed.

We also had to say goodbye to our one-in-a-million goat, Sheldon. He walked in parades, let us dress him up, and even protected the other animals from coyotes, earning the bite marks in his ears. He had the coolest horns, the best beard, and the biggest heart. He lived a long, full life and brought so much joy to everyone who met him.

Two big losses in just a couple days. Our hearts are hurting, but we’re so grateful we got to love them for so long. 💛
