Cooper - about 3 years old. Neutered. Dachshund-mix. Very smart dog. Housetrained. Knows sit and can shake paws both left and right. Will go into his kennel at the command "go to bed." Protective. Will let you know if anyone is outside the house and watches over the yard. Cooper is a very chill dog. Listens very well. Always comes when called. Gets along with other dogs and cats. He's always so very eager to please! He's a handsome boy. We were told his mother is a dachshund, so he's short and long but that's the only part of him that looks dachshund. He's short and muscular. A big small dog. 26 lbs. Sometimes his the tip of his tongue sticks out when he's asleep. Loves to wrestle. He does not chew furniture at all. Does not potty in the house at all. Saved from the pound about 2 years ago. .

Chico - about 3 years old, chihuahua-mix.
Rescued from the road in the middle of nowhere, a popular dumping place for unwanted pets. Was almost hit by a truck, but my husband stopped and saved him. Owners were never located. His back leg is crooked but it does not slow him down at all! He is a little lovebug. About 11 lbs. He loves to snuggle and be loved on. Very submissive.

Both of these dogs are the absolute best of friends. They sleep together. They play, play, play together!!! They are so cute to watch chase each other and wrestle each other! Chico grooms his "big brother" Cooper. They look like they could actually be brothers because their fur matches so well! They find comfort in each other. These two are the best of friends! The best of both worlds with Cooper being the smart, alert one who listens well and loves to be petted, and Chico being the silly little cuddlebug who just loves to squirm his way into your arms

Both get along with female dogs and cats as long as a slow proper introduction is made.

Thumper i hope the rainbow bridge is everything we dream it is, i hope your not in pain anymore and you can run and bark and play.🌈 i love you buddy and this was probably one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. I'm so sorry 😞 I have loved you longer than I had my kiddos and it is absolutely devastating that your gone. YOU ARE A GOOD BOY!!!
Trevor has been adopted!
Trevor is our newest edition to For The Love of Paws, and will be in his fur-ever home real soon! He is currently being boarded at Southern California Animal Hospital. Trevor will be transported on October 10th with Hunter to his fur-ever home in New Hampshire

UPDATE: Trevor rescued from high kill shelter in San Bernardino, CA. He is Lab/ GS mix and barely 1 years old, just a pup. Trevor has a new fur-ever home in New Hampshire with my step-daughter Brittany Perry. Thank you Brittany for taking Trevor into your home and giving him the love he so deserves. Please share pictures of him with everyone, they all want to know how Trevor is doing!

A Dumped Dog's Prayer !
Don't close the door!
Don’t push me away!
Why are you leaving?
Don't make me stay.
Slow down the car, I can't keep up.
This pavement is hot and my pads are cut.
I've got to quit running or my heart will pop.
Every muscle is aching. Why don't you stop?
I'm so hungry and thirsty. Darkness is near…
But I shouldn't leave, he will come for me here.
Several weeks have passed, I am dead on my feet.
They call me a nuisance because I eat off the streets.
Every car that passes, I chase it to see
If it's my master coming for me.
Though I approach those that come near
With trust in my eyes and no sign of fear.
With hate in their voices and a cold, heartless stare,
They threaten to kill me - they don't even care.
Batter my body with rocks that they throw, i will not leave, he will come, don’t you know?
Overtaken with weakness, my body is numb.
I'm sick and so lonely. Oh please, let him come!
I will go back where he first threw me out.
I'll wait for him there, he will come, no doubt.
My thoughts are fading. My chest feels like lead.
I'm sleepy, so sleepy - I can't lift my head.
Its so quiet, so peaceful -- all remains still.
There is my master at my home on the hill.
Yes, I can see him, he's calling my name.
His voice is so gentle, his hands are the same.
He decided he wants me. Things will be fine.
I really do love him, that master of mine.
My tail wags with pleasure. I can't catch my breath.
He came in my dreams ,but so did my DEATH!!

"URGENT"
Hi all, this is Daisy and she desperately needs a home. Her owner has been looking for a new home for her for awhile now. Shelters are full and no longer accepting dogs. Owner was forced to sell his house and move in with a friend whom already has a dog. Her dog does not like Daisy and has attacked her several times. Here is Daisy and owners story.

Daisy is a 5 year old beagle/Coon hound mix I adopted when she was a pup. She's House trained and does very well outside. She is fine to be alone for 8-10 hours as I work and she is home alone some days. She's very healthy and doesn't take any medication besides flea and tick and heartworm prevention. She loves being out in the yard for 2 or 3 hours at a time, just rolling around in the grass. She's very good with other dogs and kids. She's never been in a household with cats, but going by her nature, I dont think there would be any issues. She loves going for walks and is excellent on the leash. She knows basic commands and is always willing to please you epecially when a treat is involved! She makes a great watch dog too as she will let you know if someone is close to the house, etc. She's a very loving and caring dog, and she would make a great family dog or even great for a single person. She has been going to Mercy Animal Hospital in West Warwick since I got her and has always had her shots and is spayed and microchipped. Feel free to ask any questions, (Anthony 401-256-1321). If I didn't have to sell my house I would never let her go. It's a very hard thing for me to do and all I ask is that she gets the love and care she deserves. Thank you!!
