What's SCAV been up to lately? On Friday, April 24th, a group of SCAV representatives traveled down to UGA CVM to talk to the vet students about SC vet med life. Pictured left to right are Dr. Pat Hill (UGA CVM Class of '84), Molly Hill, CVPM (UGA Class of '98), Dr. Ashley Morris (UGA CVM Class of 2008) and husband Daniel Morris of Mid-Carolina Animal Hospital in Prosperity. Dr. Morris spoke first on mentorship and ownership, Dr. Hill spoke on legislation in SC, and Molly and Marie (not pictured, since she took the picture) spoke about living and practicing vet med in South Carolina and what SCAV does for its members. A great time was had by all, with the students enjoying hibachi from a local favorite restaurant and many of them coming down to speak to SC reps afterwards to ask questions and make connections.

🩵 Just a little reminder for fellow pet parents 🐶🐾🐱

Pets can have allergies just like we do! If you notice your furry friend constantly licking, scratching, or dealing with red, irritated skin, it might not just be “normal” — it could be allergies.

Common signs to watch for:
✨ Excessive scratching or chewing (especially paws)
✨ Red or inflamed skin
✨ Hair loss or hot spots
✨Frequent ear issues

🌳Allergies can be caused by things like pollen, dust, fleas, grass or even certain foods.

🐾 Friday Fun at the Office! 🐾

We’re wrapping up the week with something a little paw-sitive! 🐶

Each member of our team shared their favorite dog breed, and let’s just say… we’ve got quite the variety of furry favorites around here!
Some are cuddly, some are laid back & some keep us on our toes—but in the end we love each and every one of them ❤️
