It’s been an eventful week for us at the CMSA Eastern Championships in Shelbyville, TN!

But amid the chaos this team has shined!

Kailyn & Big Guy ❤️

You might recognize Big Guy from our lesson program, but we decided to start shooting off him last fall and Kailyn boldly took on the challenge of preparing him for his first year of shooting and she is seeing that goal through! All the cold days in the winter, hot days this summer, sweaty saddle pads, and saturated shirts have paid off for this team. Big Guy is not an easy horse to ride, being a big, feely, race bred QH that is incredibly powerful in his movements.

Kailyn bravely lept at the opportunity to come to a major when I mentioned it a few weeks ago, and we buckled down to make it happen and prep as much as we could to increase their chances of being “ready”.

This was both of their first CMSA Major events, and Big Guys 4th Shoot!

I’m happy to say that are absolutely killing it as a team, and picked a big stage to make so much progress! I think Big Guy found his calling in life. I am so proud of both of them for conquering their fears and kailyn seeing her goals through.

Kailyn has one more stage left of main match she will run tomorrow- go #23 - we start at 8:00am. Let’s cheer her on for her last stage and help make it her best one yet. I’ve posted the live link below.

Drum roll please! 🥁

The 4th ANNUAL…..

C o w g i r l C o n n e c t i o n C l i n i c 🤠

The fall weather has us excited for our last clinic of 2025. Join us for one of our favorite weekends of the year, where we host the best group of cowgirls that come for a whole weekend to improve their horsemanship, enjoy each others comraderie, and have a good time doing it!

We focus on developing your timing and feel as a rider through clear communication with your horse as we work with their biomechanics to achieve our desired results. This clinic is open to all levels of riders, and because of our limited number of participants everyone gets ample riding time and one on one support while in a group setting.

This is a two day clinic.

Kick back and relax for lunch and dinner provided by us for the weekend.

Saturday evening we always have a guest speaker over dinner for additional learning opportunities followed by a bonfire and smores!

Free dry camping onsite.

Stall and pen availability- or porta pen for free.

This event is always a hit! Pm to get signed up or for any additional questions.

We are excited to say…

Ashley got her FIRST CHECK aboard Jameson at the Murray County Fair Shoot this week!

Celebrate the small victories, they add up slowly sometimes but when you climb to the top of anything you realize it was more about the journey getting there, then being at the top.

We competed at the Mille Lacs County Fair Shoot last weekend, a whole bunch of us!

But I had to start with Congratulating Teagan Miller on her very First Mounted Shooting WIN! She came home with the Ladies Level 1 Class win riding Collie.

The first of many I’m sure and a good size check to boot! She has showed up in her lessons consistently and worked hard to get here.

Proud of you Teagan!

I love days like today!

Being apart of helping find and pick up a girls first horse. It’s always humbling, and reminds me what all this is actually about.

Olivia started riding here when she was 8 yrs old- we told her to “just keep asking” if she really wanted a horse. Persistence paid off!

Congratulations Olivia!

Thank you Krebsbach Performance Horses for making this families first time buying a horse professional, and a wonderful experience.

There are blessings all around us.

You just have to take the time to see them.

When I drive I listen to A LOT of books and podcasts. Right now I’m listening to a book called E-Squared by Pam Grout. In it are 9 experiments that you are supposed to do to prove that your thoughts shape your reality, and that there is a higher power out there that basically will give you whatever you ask for.

Experiment #1 calls for you to demand that the universe give you an unexpected blessing in the next 48 hours. The catch is you need to make sure you are paying attention so that you don’t miss that blessing.

My result? In the 48 hours that I gave God to send me an unexpected blessing, I lost track of how many unexpected blessings I received. The takeaway? Life is FULL of unexpected blessings. We receive them every day, but sometimes we fail to pay attention and appreciate them for what they are.

Our History

B.R. Guest Stables is owned by Sheri & Matt Robertson. They purchased the stables in the summer of 2005. After renovating the property they opened the barn up to a few more boarders and we have had the privilege of caring for numerous horses ever since! Taylor & Breanne are Matt & Sheri’s daughters and grew up helping their parents take care of the stables while riding and competing on their own horses. Their journey with B.R. Guest Stables has been a lot of work, but has, and continues to be a rewarding adventure!

Sheri & Matt’s daughter Taylor Harper has been riding since she was a little girl and has always had a passion for horses. Taylor grew up competitively competing with her pony Ruby before transitioning to larger horses and numerous disciplines. Before the thought of pursuing a professional career as a horseman ever crossed her mind Taylor was continuously working towards bettering her horsemanship and seeking out as much equine knowledge and experience as she could. Her passion for horses eventually blossomed into what is now a full fledged equine business that is dedicated to helping you find a sustainable connection with your horse. Taylor continues to develop her skills and prides herself on being a versatile horseman and loves to compete in various disciplines.
