Writing this post is bittersweet as it will be our last official Facebook post. We started this journey 6 years ago filled with hopes and dreams and we are ending it filled with unforgettable memories (and lessons learned), countless lives saved, and an incredible circle of new lifetime friends/family.
After much deliberation we have made the extremely difficult decision to close. Our last day will be September 1st. We will be accepting a very limited number of grooming and daycare appointments between now and then so if you would like to make an appointment and show the staff your appreciation and give us the opportunity to pamper and spoil your baby one last time please book early.
When we opened, we never opened with the intention of making huge profits. Our mission has always been to provide low-cost quality services to those who otherwise would not be able to afford it, to provide a safe and fun space for your four legged family members, to give back to the community, and to rescue as many dogs as possible. We have also said from the very beginning when we could no longer carry out this mission for whatever reason then we would cease to exist.
With continually rising costs, labor shortages, more and more owners dropping off for services and then either not coming back to pick up or picking up and not being able to pay, changing family circumstances, etc. we are just no longer able to keep up without either substantially increasing prices or taking on substantially more clients. Increasing prices doesn't really feel like a viable option as many of our clients are struggling to pay at the current rates. Taking on more clients isn't an option that we are comfortable with as we are unable to find additional qualified labor and adding more clients at the current staffing levels would be irresponsible. So after much deliberation and a LOT of tears we have decided the only real option that we have at this point is to close.
We are extremely grateful to those of you who have supported us over the past six years and we are ALWAYS available for play dates and cuddles. We will leave the page open for anyone that wants to private message and schedule a cuddle session.
While we have been blessed to find homes for most of our long term resident fosters we do still have two that need a place to call their furever home. If you would be interested in potentially adopting please contact us for more information.
Also, we have been made aware of a couple of negative posts regarding our landlord. While we greatly appreciate your support we would ask that you refrain from any negative comments toward them. They have been great to work with us over the past six years and are facing the same economic challenges that we are. They have to make decisions that are in the best financial interest of their business and their employees and as small business owners ourselves we completely understand that.
