đ´ Looking for a few horse-loving helpers who want MORE saddle time!
With 8 horses to keep fit and in work, we have LOTS of riding time available at Willow Pond Farm â and we thought this might be a fun opportunity for a few experienced youth/teen riders who are always looking for more time in the saddle!
This is not a paid position or a formal lesson program. Itâs an opportunity for capable riders to get additional riding experience while helping us exercise and condition our horses. Along the way, you may get to work on fitness riding, flatwork, trails and even learn a little about polocrosse and riding a competition horse.
A little disclaimer about riding ability:
You MUST already be a confident rider who is comfortable at faster gaits and can confidently canter a horse in an open field. Our conditioning is done outside and can include trotting and cantering across open fields. If most of your riding is currently in an arena and youâre still learning or gaining confidence at the canter, this probably isnât the right opportunity for you yet â and thatâs completely okay!
We have horses with different personalities and competition experience, and riders will be matched appropriately, but safety and confidence are non-negotiable.
đ
When:
During the week, weâll primarily be riding in the late evenings, around 6â8 PM, once it starts cooling down. On weekends, weâll be riding early in the mornings to beat the heat.
This could be a really fun opportunity for the horse-crazy kid who wants more miles, more saddle time, more experience and a chance to try something different. đ´đ
Anyone under 18 will need parent/guardian permission. Waiver signatures required and barn has insurance and MD Stable license.
Interested? Send me a message with the riderâs age, riding experience, availability and what theyâre currently comfortable doing on horseback.
