SMASH K9 & Bert would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! Having a new puppy in the new year is fun & exhausting. Below depicts just a couple of this boys personalities. Bert can be a little gangsta....but when he acts up, he is quickly put in "air jail"! The adventures will continue!

SMASH K9 would like to formally introduce everyone to our new baby, "Bert"! Bert is almost 10 weeks old. He is a Llewellin Setter. This little guy has a very important namesake...both Shawn & Sheri had grandfathers with the same name! Shawn has big plans for Bert & we are excited to watch this guy grow and become an important part of SMASH K9 and our family.

Calvert County Animal Shelter is officially at capacity for dogs, and we urgently need the help of our rescue partners to make room and save lives. Every kennel is full, and more dogs continue to arrive daily.

We currently have dogs ranging from 5 months to 10 years old, and weighing anywhere from 19 lbs. to over 100 lbs. Our population includes everything from purebred to mixed-breed dogs, each one deserving of safety, stability, and a chance at a loving home.

Our team is doing everything we can, but we CANNOT do it alone. We are asking our trusted rescue partners, in particular our local animal welfare organizations to step in and help us open kennel space so we can continue to provide care for the dogs who need us most.

Many of these dogs are available for general public adoption.

If you are able to pull even one dog or several, it will make an immediate impact.

Got to spend some time working my girl this afternoon!! It was cold and windy but we enjoyed it!!! I will always refer to her as "the pick of the litter" lol!!! She is not easy and difficult but she teaches me a lot!!!So stoic Artemis!! Get it!!!
