We attended an HCM clinic during the TICA cat show in Farmington, UT. There was an OFA veterinary cardiologist, Jason Arndt DVM DACVIM, that was offering ECHO heart screenings so we decided to take the opportunity to get 4 of our cats scanned. I am very happy with the healthy “normal” results, which show no signs of HCM, and look forward to doing more of these tests in the future to make sure we are breeding the healthiest kitties possible. Ragdolls do have an HCM genetic test that is quite accurate that we already have been testing for, but thought might as well get them scanned too!
