This is a long one so bare with meā¦
Sometimes, working with animals in any form, comes with so many emotions. Happiness, gratefulness, sadness, sometimes itās hard... itās not always just playing with dogs all day.
We get bit, but thatās not the hard part.
We work on dogs that sometimes take every bit of patience we have, but thatās not the hard part.
Weāre on our feet from the time we open til the time we close, but thatās not the hard part.
We meet new puppies & watch them grow into adults, thatās the fun part.
We build relationships with the dogs & their owners alike, thatās what I love.
Last week, I groomed Fiona for the last time. I knew it was the last time sheād be in the shop. In a short time, I formed a bond with Fiona and her family that I will always be thankful for.
Thatās the hardest part. Theyāre not just āclientsā. When they cross that rainbow bridge, sometimes it makes you want to cry. It makes you want to wish every dog could live forever. Theyāre not just āclientsā. Sometimes they stick with you, even though theyāre not yours.
I groomed Fi for the last time, gave her a few extra hugs, said my goodbye to her, gave her dad a hug & stepped out of the shop to shed a few tears, reflect on this career & everything that comes with it, pulled myself back together & went back to business cause my next pup was on their way.
Today, Fionaās family brought me this card & once again thanked me. I havenāt stopped thinking about her or her family since I saw her last Tuesday & gave her that extra hug.
I say it a lot, but I am so thankful & blessed for every dog and owner that comes into my shop. Iām thankful for the relationships I have built over the years. I am thankful for you trusting me with your babies every time theyāre on my table. Iām thankful for all of it. Everything that comes with this career.
Thank you for choosing us & thank you for letting us have these relationships with your fur babies. ā¤ļø
