The foundation of my pet training is to teach dogs how to learn through positive motivational techniques.
I have been actively dog training since 1975 and have earned more than 30 titles in various dog sport activities including IPO, Agility, AKC Obedience, AKC Rally, Dock Diving, Iron dog, and Conformation events.
I was born with a passion for the animals and training. Communication techniques that we have developed along the way are simply amazing. I have raised many puppies from 5 weeks old up to National Competition level and studied under many talented European, North American and South American trainers and breeders. I also constantly review and research the most tried and true as well as the latest, most innovative and positive science based training techniques.
Along with my dog kennels I have served as South Regional Director of AWMA and a member of Greater Houston Schutzhund Club, DVG and USCA, also Vice president of Lafayette Working dogs club. Previous memberships include USMRA, DVG, UDC, Kynologischer Club Schweinfurt Germany and have served as president and training director of local Schutzhund clubs.
In addition to training my personal dogs I've also coached several dog and handler teams to enhance their competition skills and instructed helpers working to earn their classification. I have also been active with the local 4H to give back to the community.

Recent
My previous champion Wrak achieved "High In Trial" when earning his IPO 1 in New Orleans. He then received his IPO 2 at the AWMA 2013 National competition in Chicago earning him the rank of National Champion. We then went on to earn his IPO 3 at the 2014 South Central Regional Championship in Dallas by the age of 3.
I am currently competing with his son "Krijger" who is now the 2020 SCR vice Champion IGP1
In 2022 and 2023 Krijger and I successfully competed in the AWMA championship. All these accomplishments were obtained while raising my daughter who went on to follow in her grandfathers footsteps as a rocket scientist.

Though I am winding down, I will still be available to pet owners in need or those interested in improving their competition performances. The website will be down this month. 12/2023 I will keep the page open.

Please do not leave your dog hanging in the moment. While training or receiving instruction, always keep an eye, and ear to what your dog is feeling. Do not disconnect completely. After the session is over or during a patience teaching moment, have the discussion. If you continue to check out within the session, your dog will start to check out too. Great teachers or coaches are always cognizant of this fact and do not give long complicated reasoning during training sessions. They pick moments like after the dog is put up, when it is on a down or some other time for the long description. I will show respect to those who show respect to me and my dog, but never to the detriment of my training or relationship between me and my dog. Always remember they live in the moment. Don't let them down.

I received a recommendation for Linda Guidry from a good friend, who spoke especially highly of her skill with training dogs. I contacted to her and set up a two -week time for our dog Eli to go to her for training. Eli is a 10 month- old black and tan Doberman pincher that is blind in his right eye. He is the 6th Doberman my husband and I have had, and the 4th one from this particular breeder. He smart, energetic, suborn, and very loving. Miss Linda did not let his blindness affect her training program – this was to his benefit. He flourished with her program. He came to her a wild puppy with no focus; and returned to us a confident puppy with the skills to follow commands which has made him a happier, and our household much calmer. He is amazing with my 3 year- old son, 2 cats, and his 4 year- old aunt Sophie. He knows his place in the family; and is a content puppy who now follows our lead and is much calmer and confident in our leadership. Dobermans as a breed are extremely smart and require an owner who is a natural leader, Miss Linda knew to focused in on that trait and used to appropriately for the positive results we are now witnessing. To trust someone with your dog is a big deal for many people, us included. Miss Linda was absolutely amazing. Our Eli has come back to us a much better dog. Thank You so much

Thank you, Linda, for establishing this beautiful relationship with Rousey and helping us to realize her capabilities. Thank you for the timely communication of progressions during the training and the detailed instructions that made her transition home a smooth one. And, lastly, thank you for teaching the balance of love and discipline. Your experience and proven talents of precision are greatly appreciated.

Linda has been teaching IPO all three phases of Schutzhund to my GSD and Belgian Malinois. She knows a million different ways to teach one exercise so that our sessions result in learning and fun rather than frustration for the dog or myself. Linda continually offers feedback so that I can improve my communication with the dog and handling skills while training. Additionally, she has helped me with imprinting and behavior work to ensure that I do not create behaviors that I do not want or that may become problematic later which means a happier more fulfilled dog. Her extensive experience makes Linda an excellent resource for training and behavior who can help with anything from basic potty training to high level obedience competition.

To other dog lovers who are trying to decide if you need a trainer....

My experience is with a Husky puppy who could sit but that was about it. She also jumped on people when they came over to my house! Upon picking her up, I was stunned into complete happiness!

She came back a different dog, completely happy and in control of herself. My friends who knew Crystal before, asked me "where was my dog?" Nobody could believe it! Best money I ever spent! Thank you Linda, I even joked with her if i could bring my kids back to her!

Thank you so much for my first trained dog- Keri & Rob
