Arizona Working Paws

Arizona Working Paws 501c3 Non Profit Animal Rescue Through our rescue, it is our goal to help educate owners about the commitment of owning a dog.

Arizona Working Paws aka AZ Working Paws became a Non-Profit in November, 2023 after deciding to turn our passion for rescuing animals into a much bigger dream. Our mission is to help save animal lives, by showing compassion through fostering and adoption, for animals who have been neglected or abandoned. At Arizona Working Paws, we are passionate about all animals, and we strive to find them dedi

cated families who will love them forever. An adoption fee is required to ensure the safety and welfare of each animal being adopted. Arizona Working Paws uses each adoption fee to help towards costs of vet visits, vaccinations, treatment, food and accessories (kennels collars, leashes, etc.) We thank you for your supporting our rescue!

Pupdate 🐾 Arthur has been adopted!! 🥰

👋🏻 Arthur went for a fun and adventurous hike today at Flume Trail, in Prescott! Hiking is definitely this guys’s jam, he can go for hours if you let him! Doesn’t he look so handsome with his smile 🐶 and the way the sun ☀️ hits his beautiful red coat!? 🥹 Arthur is such a smart, happy and affectionate boy with lots of energy. He is still young and eager to learn so he requires someone who is patient and willing to learn with him. Arthur can’t wait to meet his forever hiking buddy! 🦮🚶🏼‍♂️🐾♥️

We still have two fosters that need loving forever homes! They were rescued from the euthanasia list in Maricopa County due to their fear and anxiety in the shelter. Both need to be only dogs in the home with patience and love as they adjust to their new environments. We don’t know their history but know they are both very loving dogs that deserved a second chance.

Pike, formally known as “Greg” is a male border collie, approximately 5 years old, neutered and microchipped. He has struggled to adjust with his pack and after many trials and veterinary consults, it was determined that Pike’s personality is just not meant to be in a multi-dog household. Pike must be the only dog in his new forever home, preferably with adults and older kids. Female dog exceptions may be considered.

Pike LOVES his people and enjoys being by your side no matter where you are. He loves to gently lean on you and feel your presence. Pike will cuddle with you on the couch or in bed if you let him. Pike is kennel trained if you prefer to use a kennel while you are not home. He also enjoys being outside and playing with toys. He can go on walks outside of the home but can be vocally reactive to seeing other dogs nearby.

Pike had bloodwork tests done that resulted in a completely clean bill of health. Pike has also seen a veterinary behaviorist who suggested that he is just picky about his fellow dogmates and needs to be the only dog. Again, female dog exceptions may be considered. All of this documentation will be included in his adoption.

Ziva is a spayed female Heeler mix, approximately 4-5 years old and is vaccinated. Ziva is kenneled trianed but does seem to have some separation anxiety when she is not with her person by whining when you’re no longer in sight. However, most Heelers typically bond with their person and since she was likely bonded to someone before, she will take some time building trust that she won’t be abandoned ever again. With that being said, she is not destructive at all and does not need to be kenneled, she typically lounges around or sleeps on dog beds or the couch.

Ziva knows basic obedience commands such as sit, down, stay, and paw!! She loves to play with many different toys, her current favorites are Kong toys and squeaky toys. Ziva is just full of personality, which is why we named her Ziva aka “the diva”. She is very goofy yet very sweet. Ziva loves to explore and go on walks around the neighborhood. I would bet she would even enjoy being a running buddy or hiking partner! She is also sometimes vocally reactive to other dogs on walks.

Due to Ziva’s behavior around select dogs, it has been decided she would do best as the only dog in the household. She does great with our cats and even lets them cuddle with her up on the couch. It is unknown how she would be with cats that have no experience around other dogs. Ziva is a foster from Heart of Infinity and she will be available for adoption through their rescue.
