Why do we almost always encourage starting with a private lesson?
Because we want to meet you and your dog before telling you what kind of training you need.
We want to hear what’s going on, meet your dog, understand what you’re struggling with, and learn what you actually want life with your dog to look like.
We’ve had plenty of clients come to us convinced they need a Board & Train, only to find out that with some coaching and the right plan, they can absolutely accomplish their goals through private lessons. Why sell someone a bigger, more expensive program if they don’t actually need it?
Of course, there are also dogs and situations where we meet the team and genuinely believe a Board & Train is the best option. We offer them for a reason! But we want to make that recommendation after we’ve met you and your dog.
And we want to make sure you like us too! 😂 You’re trusting someone with a member of your family. You should feel comfortable with them, their training, and the plan they’re recommending.
So, a little advice when shopping for a dog trainer: be cautious of someone who is pushing and pushing a Board & Train or expensive package before they’ve ever even met your dog. Training shouldn’t start with deciding which program someone can sell you. It should start with figuring out what you and your dog actually need.
Not sure where to start? Start with a private lesson. Meet us, let us meet your dog, and we’ll figure it out from there. 🐾
