Lucky Dog Lodge will be closed for Daycare Saturday, August 30th through Tuesday, September 2nd while we focus on care, cuddles and play for our overnight guests 🐶🐩🐕 during the holiday weekend. 🐾❤️

Many people have asked what inspired Courtney to open a dog daycare and boarding business. Here’s a little insight into how the business was formed!
Courtney has always been an avid animal lover. She grew up in New Orleans, and her career started by volunteering at veterinary clinics in Metairie. She continued working as a Veterinary Technician while pursuing her college Degree. Courtney graduated from Millsaps College in Mississippi with a Bachelor’s of Science and has over 14 years of experience caring for animals. Married for 18 years with two sons, Matthew and Patrick, Courtney also serves as a board member with GaitWay Therapeutic Horsemanship in St Gabriel. In December of 2014 Courtney put together some plans with the help of her husband, Ryan, to start her dream of creating a safe, healthy and happy dog facility. In an effort to set her business apart from some of the corporate owned businesses moving into town, Courtney has traveled the country and worked with experts to build the safest, cleanest, quietest building possible.
Courtney opened Lucky Dog Lodge as a Pet Sitting Service in September 2015 with the goal of opening the Lodge a few years later. Naming the company seemed easy! The company is named after Lucky Dog, our sons’ Golden Retriever. Lucky comes from a family of service dogs and will be a familiar face at the Lodge.
In October 2015 the website was launched and Courtney started providing pet sitting services in Ascension and East Baton Rouge. During this time Courtney continued to look for locations and decided the Dutchtown area would be an excellent location given the growth of Ascension Parish. Within the next year she identified the property on Highway 73 between I-10 and Airline Highway.
Lucky Dog Lodge is designed as a premier pet lodge and daycare center in Prairieville, Louisiana. Services will include dog boarding, daycare, training and grooming/bath services. The facility will offer small, medium, and large suite boarding with many amenities such as televisions, web cams, and a comfortable cot for your family/furry friend to rest. Multiple play areas at the Lodge allow for the proper daycare setting for dogs, with indoor and outdoor play centers. Lucky Dog will offer smaller playgroups as well as private play sessions for those who don’t enjoy groups. We have paid special attention to noise, air quality and safety to create the most comfortable experience for you and your pet while you are away. Customer service and personalized care is our top goal and Happy Pups are our priority!
