Yesterday was Fire's gotcha day and last week was her third birthday, so we had to have a little celebration!
I've been planning on making some healthy dog treats to handout for Halloween which I did last night! I also decided to make a few extra treats to make Fire and Ice a doggy cookie cake lol It didn't look fantastic, but they both loved it!
Here's the recipe with pictures of the products I used for the dog treats! I doctored their cookie cake up with some peanut butter and whip cream for frosting 😋
Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats
3 cups wheat flour
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup pumpkin puree
2 eggs
3 Tbs natural peanut butter
1. Preheat oven to 350°
2. In a small bowl sift the flour and mix together the dry ingredients: flour, oats, cinnamon
3. In a mixing bowl add together the wet ingredients and mix: peanut butter, pumpkin puree, eggs
4. Slowly add and mix dry ingredients into the mixing bowl until the dough is balled up
5. Lightly dust your hands and ball up the dough to remove any creases
6. Lightly flour the surface you plan to use then roll out the dough about 1/2 inch thick (I wouldn't recommend putting the dough down on parchment paper, it tended to rip; I used aluminum foil to reduce the clean up time, but you could use your counter as well)
7. Cut into the shape you desire, bake on parchment paper for 30 minutes
8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and serve!
Tip: The more I made the thinner I noticed I was rolling the dough, so I just adjusted the cooking time as needed. This is a very easily modified recipe!!
