Dr. Karen Richter-Hall is a Maine native who graduated from Deering High School in Portland before earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Simmons College in Boston. Prior to attending veterinary school, she gained hands-on experience working as a laboratory technician at Boston Children's Hospital, a veterinary technician at Commonwealth Veterinary Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts, and an

assistant herdsman on a dairy farm in Hardwick, Massachusetts. Dr. Richter-Hall earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Following graduation, she returned to Maine and practiced at several respected veterinary hospitals throughout the greater Portland area, including the Veterinary Center of Cape Elizabeth, Brackett Street Veterinary Clinic, and Freeport Veterinary Hospital. In 2008, Dr. Richter-Hall fulfilled her vision of opening her own veterinary practice in her hometown of Pownal, where she continues to provide compassionate, high-quality care to pets and their families. Outside the clinic, Dr. Richter-Hall enjoys spending time with her husband, Tom, their two sons, Parker and Mason, and their beloved pets, including Gordon the dog and two rescued cats, Jack Hamster and Henry Gravel.
