It seems way too early but we here at Barkley Couture have been busy filling orders and working on holiday designs. Maddie spent “National Yorkie Day” posing wearing some new Halloween designs. Being the little trooper she is, she gave me all she had. Such a little professional. These two designs are in our Etsy store and have more to come!!!!

Maddie and I have been busy the last few weeks getting some new designs ready. Been a long long long year for us with my knee replacement surgery and losing Molly, Macey Mae, and my ❤️ Barkley. Here are a few I have finished and will be posting them on Etsy in the next few days (that is a chore). Working on some Halloween and then got lots of new Christmas dresses cut out and ready to make. If you have any questions about any of them just shoot me a PM.

Verdie King walked the runway at the G Girl Cotillion in Florida recently in a Barkley Couture original. Black and white plaid tafetta and black velvet made a perfect combination. The flocked tulle over skirt was embellished with what felt like thousands of crystals that were placed on one at a time. Her hat was a perfect addition and she wore it so well. Barkley Couture was so honored to be a part of making her even more beautiful. Video of Maddie modeling in comments.

Barkley Couture was honored to dress Bailey King for her walk down the runway at the G Girl’s Cotillion recently in Florida. Lots and lots of work and heirloom sewing techniques went into this replica of an heirloom christening dress. All the fabrics and laces were Swiss heirloom quality. Maddie is modeling and there is a video of the full dress in comments. This dress was 46 inches long and the embroidery designs took over 6 hours to complete. The entire ruffle around the outside was gathered and stitched on by hand.

Thought I should post a surgery update. Nurse Maddie and I are doing great. Almost 2 weeks out from knee replacement and I feel like I am way ahead of schedule. Ditched the walker and cane a few days ago and they tell me at therapy I am doing phenomenal. Planning on getting back in my sewing studio for a few hours a day next week. I need some normalcy in my life. Has been a hard few months losing both the girls and especially Barkley. Ready to make some new dresses.

Barkley Couture has lost it’s namesake. Barkley went to join his sister’s Molly and Macey Mae at Rainbow Bridge on Friday. Barkley was 15 1/2 years old and he will be missed greatly. Such a sweet little soul he was always by my side and spent most of his time laying in his bed on my sewing counter. Fly high little man!!!!

Maddie and Barkley thought it was time I posted an update, many of you have been asking about my surgery. It has taken a little longer to ”jump through all the doctor/insurance hoops” than I had anticipated. My right knee surgery is scheduled for April 3rd. I have been busy working on some gorgeous dresses for the G Girl Cotillion in May so I have been busy. Cannot share any details yet. It has been nice with all that has been going on to have some time to myself. Losing both Molly and Macey Mae in the last 4 months has been difficult. But we are looking forward to getting this done and getting back to making some pretty new dresses. Please keep me in your thoughts.

Love, love doing custom orders but love even more seeing them on the intended. Custom “Alice” dress for a gorgeous little Frenchie in Canada. She and her sister have a party to attend. The reviews are always good to see also. Check out that tucked bodice.
