The 2025 Port Clinton Fishing Rodeo was nothing short of amazing! 🎣 Watching the kids run around with huge smiles, excited to catch fish and spend time with other young anglers who share their passion, was truly heartwarming.

I had the honor of working at the check station, where I got to measure every fish that came in. Seeing the kids’ faces light up when they found out how big their catch was—that was the most rewarding part of my day. I wasn’t exaggerating when I said the event would be full of smiles and laughter!

It was a perfect day for kids to get outside, enjoy the sunshine, and make memories. And for the adults, it was a great time to network, reconnect, and celebrate our amazing community.

Thank you to everyone who made it such a fun and unforgettable day!

I wish I had a before and after picture of this European but sadly I do not. Right before the Taxidermy competition I knocked my skull off the wall. The whole nasal bone was broken off as well as the maxilla bone on the side and bottom.
It’s not perfect by any means, however some light handed super glue work and some patience it slowly began to come back together. It’s not perfect but it’s better than a half shattered European mount!

The gross side of European mounts, yes… I’m hands-on when it comes to ensuring my pieces come out with the best quality possible. Before the skulls go into maceration, I clean off as much meat as possible from the bone while avoiding cutting it. Then they are added to a bucket of water with a tank heater and timer to regulate a certain temperature. The meat slowly pulls off the skull. Here I am picking off the meat chunks to help speed up that particular process.

Had this big guy finished for quite some time now, but apparently he never got posted! Now is his time to shine ✨
