Please share to bring awareness! For those who have been following our son’s healing journey after breaking his back a year ago today . PLEASE SHARE! He could have been paralyzed. Be careful at trampoline parks or avoid them altogether. If you have to sign a release form, in the event of an accident, think twice. It CAN happen to you or your child. There are over 100,000 emergency room visits from trampoline injuries each year. 7,000-15,000 of those are from trampoline parks & about 10% of those require hospitalization. Two deaths a year are reported.Adison’s break was one of the worst. These parks pay hefty insurance premiums to stay open but don’t take any responsibility when an accident occurs. They have kids doing flips on marketing videos but then when your child breaks his back doing flips, they say that flips are prohibited, signs are posted & employees are instructed to intervene if they see it happening. This was not our son’s experience & no such signs were posted, although I believe they are now. We are very thankful for his recovery. All credit to God as it could have turned out very different. After a year of waiting, we have deicded its time for us to bring awareness to & demand they do better. The medical staff at Mercy said multiple times that they see so many injuries from trampolines & it’s so avoidable. Overall, we are grateful, but we don’t want this happening to anyone else so we will be posting his story again with more details of the accident that occurred, how it was handled at the park, scans, pre & post surgery, along with pictures from that day & afterwards, to continue to bring awareness to the potential dangers of trampoline/adventure parks & how it should have been handled.Five levels of rods/pins, a 10 inch scar, an amazing surgeon, wonderful staff , amazing Mercy Rehab, hundreds if not thousands of people praying & a powerful God. Here you go! Thank you, Dr. Yasser Jeelani!!!! —-I wish I could tag you!!! ❤️
