Hank, is such a HAPPY guy! Along with his owner, we are working on leash walking in downtown Newport with lots of dogs,people and distractions. They are doing a great job! It's been a lot of fun for me too! Most Labs are such wonderful dogs, easy to train, they
want to please you, dog friendly usually and their zest for life is contagious.

Well, here are Maverick's breed genetics. I guessed correctly he had a lot of ACD but not Chihuahua or poodle. Cattle dogs are my favorite breed having owned a pure bred one for 15 years. That's what drew me to Maverick only in pint size, hence the Chihuahua.
His genetics come through from the ACD behavior traits, super smart, nippy at my heels, always ready, loyal, high energy, confident, suspicious of strangers and does not like many dogs. On the Chihuahua side, his hearing is superb and sensitive, alerting us when he hears an unusual sound.
I got Maverick from his previous owner knowing he needed training with his resource guarding of his previous owner. He is reactive towards most dogs, and people. However, I spent an hour with him when i met him, introduced him to Emma and knew he was just what i wanted. We have made great strides with him over the past 5 months.
Maverick is wonderful dog, super affectionate with me, high energy, very smart, trainable and keeps me entertained.

Reactivity Training with Maverick. He is getting much better. This is minor compared to many interactions. I am at a disadvantage since I am hold the camera with one hand preventing my from my normal two hand leash grip for cleaner corrections.

Maverick, in the morning light, looking confident, after our morning 30 minute walk. He was less reactive to one of our neighbors which is improvement. He came with leash reactivity towards dogs and people, separation anxiety, and resource guarding all in one small package! He has improved so much over the 5 months I have had him. He keeps us entertained and we enjoy him soo much!

Archie, labradoddle at 12 months. We worked on place and leave it. I worked with him at 6 months too. He still is one of the cutest dogs i have trained and so soft to the touch and in his demeanor.

When you have done such a good job, your clients want to pay you directly! This is Archie in his summer haircut. I saw him today for more training. He is so cute which is part of his problem, owners can't keep their hands off him, so he needs some separation and space to be calm. I really enjoy him and the owners.

Sparrow, taking a pause before we move on. She is a little nervousness on her walks. Teaching her to move with me and to be more confident. After a this we worked on sit with his owner and I offered a few tips on petting her, meaning don't come over her head to pet since she is mouthy, and don't let other people hug her, and pet her only when she has 4 paws on the ground. She is going to be a wonderful dog! She is so bright!

Sparrow, 8 month old Australian Cattle Dog who i have had 2 sessions with. She is so smart and so trainable. She nips and mouths a lot typical of most ACDs. She has medium energy level which is great, and not overly suspicious of people at this time but that may change. She is going to be so much fun to train over the next few weeks. I will see her several times a week. This is my favorite breed, smart, tough, loyal but needs training! Not everyone can handle them, and not for 1st time dog owners. I had one for 15 years and now have Maverick who is mix of ACD.
