A lot of work happens behind the scenes with every cat rehomed through Cats in the City Rescue, all with the same goal in mind: making every cat feel at home.
Mildred is our current rescue resident. A beautiful torbie who was very shy and nervous when she first came to stay with us. To help this little lady feel safe and settled, we began a three-stage process. Stage one involved re-establishing her on Fluoxetine following behavioral assessments and recommendations from her veterinarian.
This week, we entered stage two. Her medication, which has really helped her personality shine, has been transitioned from an oral medication to a transdermal application. This compassionate, low-stress approach will make it easier for her to adjust to a new environment with her future family, while also turning each application into another opportunity for bonding.
Keep your eyes peeled over the coming week. Milly is almost ready to start meeting new people!

We’re thrilled to share that all of our available cats have been placed in loving homes! Over the past year, we’ve helped 14 amazing cats find their families—and we couldn’t have done it without your support.
While we don’t currently have cats ready to meet new adopters, we’re still actively working with kitties in need.

Here’s how you can continue to support us:
🐱 Sponsor a cat through one-time or recurring donations via our rescue site
🐱 BottleDrop GIVE – we now accept bottle drop donations! You can donate through your online account or in person. Donations can be dropped off at Cats in the City grooming locations, or ask the front desk how to get a blue donation bag to take home
🐱 Chewy Gives Back – send much-needed food and supplies directly through the Chewy website
🐱 In-person donations – we gladly accept gently used cat supplies, canned food, and unopened bags of dry food
🐱 Tax-deductible giving – donation receipts are available upon request for both monetary and supply donations
As we grow, we’re expanding our volunteer opportunities. Right now, we’re looking for volunteer foster homes to help rehabilitate cats in the future who may not thrive in our typical boarding-style setting.

Adoption Alert! Meet Juice! 🧃🐾
We’re excited to introduce the newest member of our adoption program—Juice! This 10-month-old kitten is neutered, fully vaccinated, and absolutely bursting with big baby energy. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate companion who will keep you on your toes, Juice might be your perfect match.
Juice thrives on interaction and playtime. He would do best in a lively home with plenty of activity. Families with children and other pets are especially encouraged! He loves making friends and being part of the action.
Because Juice is such a social boy, he needs a home where he won’t be alone for long stretches of time. A household with another pet or people who are home often will help him stay happy and prevent the boredom that can lead to behavioral issues down the road.
