Closing out Fast CAT season 2026 with two very tired boys. 🏁
Bear earned his DCAT 🏆 and Enzo got to experience his very first run!! This weekend was about so much more than titles. Starting Enzo’s BH journey was a huge milestone for us, and I left feeling incredibly inspired.
There’s something so special about watching our dogs discover what they’re capable of, learning how to communicate better with them, and finding the things that make them come alive.
Two very different dogs. Two very different journeys. But both reminding me why I love this life so much.
For me, that’s what this is really about — building a life with my dogs where we get to learn, work, explore, and grow together.

There’s nothing quite like the bond you build with your first working dog.
They teach you that working together is so much more than commands and obedience. It’s learning to communicate without words. Learning to read the smallest changes in body language, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and figure out how to bring out the very best in the dog standing in front of you.

Your first working dog teaches you just as much as you teach them.
They show you where you can grow. They make you a better handler, a more thoughtful trainer, and a better advocate for your dog. They teach you to slow down, listen, adapt, trust the process, and meet your dog where they are.

And somewhere along the way, they open the door to an entirely new world.
New places. New experiences. New challenges. New adventures. A world you may have never discovered without them.

But most importantly, they teach you what it means to build a true partnership.

Thank you Enzo for opening the door to a whole other world for me. 🐾🤍

We are happy to announce Otto found his forever family. 🏡❤️
When Otto first came to us, he was carrying more than anyone could see.
He was stressed. Uncertain. Unsure how to navigate the world around him. He didn’t yet know that he didn’t have to react to everything he encountered.
So we started where he was.
We gave him time. We gave him structure. We worked on neutrality, confidence, communication, and regulation. We helped him learn that he could pause, make better choices, and trust the people guiding him.
Little by little, something began to change.
His progress wasn’t perfect or linear. Some victories were quiet: settling instead of the constant alertness, choosing trust instead of fear, looking to us instead of feeling the need to manage his surroundings.
We are so happy that Otto is joining a home that sees him for who he is. A home willing to continue his journey, celebrate his progress, give him structure and guidance, and love him through every chapter still to come.

There are so many moments in rescue that break your heart.
But moment like these makes it all worth it.

Today, we welcomed Enzo as the newest member of Charon’s Therapy Team. He has earned both his CGCA and CGCU titles, and he continues to show just how much he has to offer.
Enzo has a heart for the work, a natural ability to connect with people, and the versatility to take on a variety of roles.
When he isn’t representing Charon or helping demonstrate the work we do with clients at Rhea’s K9, Enzo puts his skills to work with the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue team.

Every journey starts somewhere, and for Enzo, that lately means stepping beyond the training field and into the community he’s being trained to serve.
Every interaction is another opportunity to build confidence, practice neutrality, learn how to navigate the world, and become the kind of K9 his community can rely on when it matters most.
The searches may be the mission, but the foundation is built in moments like these.
Watching him grow into his purpose from one experience, one track and one community interaction at a time has been the most rewarding thing I’ve experienced as a handler. Amity, Oregon thank you for having us out for National Night Out!

The greatest reward isn’t a title—it’s the opportunity to serve.

Enzo’s first public appearance with the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue K9 Team was another reminder of why we put in the work. Every training day is for the people who may one day need us most.

A trained dog is a free dog.
In a multi dog household, I make it a priority to create intentional 1:1 time with each of my guys. Sometimes it’s a training session, and sometimes it’s simply a quiet morning walk with a coffee and a dog by my side.
They are a part of our world, but to them, we are their entire world. The small moments of connection we often take for granted are the moments they value most.
These are the moments all the work is for… not just the skills and titles, but the trust, partnership, and freedom to truly experience life together.
