This is the face of a very lucky kitten, although she doesn't know it yet. She was found in a city park in Portland by a park ranger who was cleaning up trash that had been dumped in the bushes. Fortunately, he took the time to check out what was inside this blue container. The kitten did not seem grateful or even happy to see him, so he wisely took her to a place where spicy little kittens are welcome. Her name is now Hannah and she has joined our "H" litter, all of them about 6 weeks old.

So many things have changed in the past year, but one thing has not: unaltered cats are roaming, meeting up, and doing what they do. This little lady came to us with her brand new babies after she was found in a shopping center parking lot. At first she was confused about how to take care of her babies, which isn't surprising since momma is only 6 months old herself. With supportive care and encouragement, she's doing much better now and the kids are healthy and happy. Gabrielle has four babies: three tabbies and a tux. Glynnis, Gretchen, Gavin, and Giles. Please spay and neuter your pets.

Hello, friends! It's been ages since we had time to keep up with our FB page but since we'll all be spending more time at home for awhile, let's do some catching up! Say hello to beautiful Fawn, who came into our rescue in February and presented us with these six beautiful babies on February 20. She has 5 girls and 1 boy and all of them need names, except for the tiniest girl who is named Fajita. ** Forgot to mention, they need to be "F" names! (Thanks, Rema :) )

Are you feeding cats who live outdoors? Here's how to make shelters to keep them warm and dry through the winter. Quick, easy, and low cost. Let us know if you have questions or need help.

These shelters for outdoor living cats cost about $10 -15 each to make, including the tote, insulating wrap, straw and tape. Instructions are in the photo captions. It took less than an hour to make these four shelters. Please let us know if you have any questions about how to put them together. If you are in the Portland area and need shelter for your cats, we can help!

Say hello to the "J" kittens! These beauties have been living with their mom in the great outdoors with no human contact so they are our first real kitten boot camp recruits this year. They were pretty hungry so it didn't take long to trap them. We'll have momcat trapped soon, but in the meantime we need J names for three boys and one girl. (She's the one with the grey ear tips under her two brothers.)

The kids were having a quick workout while mom had her exam. Little Ivy is tiny but she's fiesty!

We have chosen names for the "I" family! Mom is Isabella and the kits are Ivy and Ian. Although we made a small error: the larger kitten is actually the boy and the tiny one is a girl. Oops! And here they are at their first vet visit today. That's Ian making a toy out of Momma's tail.

Incoming! This lovely momma and her two little jelly beans came to our rescue tonight. We saw them advertised on a neighborhood "free stuff" group, made a quick change of plans to go pick them up, and now they are safely tucked away in our foster home. All three are very sweet, but we're a little baffled about how the female kitten is almost twice the size of her little brother at the age of six weeks. They all had a nice dinner and already got dewormed, defleaed and had a mani-pedi. Now they need "I" names! (You may wonder what happened to "G" and "H" and that news will be coming soon!)

UPDATE: We said G but it's actually F! Got a little ahead of ourselves, sorry!

Say hello to the "F" family and help us give them names! This momma came to us from St. Helens where she had her babies in a dangerous situation and was separated from them for a few days. We were a little worried when we first got them, because mom didn't seem to be giving the babies much nutrition, although they were nursing and she was cuddling and keeping them clean. But they gradually started gaining weight and although they are still small for their age, they are otherwise happy and healthy. Momma will go back to her people once the kittens are weaned and she's been spayed. There are two boys and one girl.

If you have to spend your Friday night at the emergency vet hospital, it helps if the patient is pretty cute and has all the staff fighting over who gets to hold her. Miss Coco had her spay surgery on Thursday and decided on Friday to ditch her cone and remove the stitches all by herself! So last night we got her fixed up again (the tech reported that Coco was making air biscuits while the doctor took a couple new stitches), put on the hard cone, and now she is just the most pitiful kitten you have ever seen. 😽💕

The first kitten taxi ride of this year! Five kittens and two momma cats went to FCCO yesterday and the kittens had quite a bit to say about it!
