Underdogs Rock Rescue Underdogs Rock! Rescue is a small all volunteer foster based, Oregon 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue

URR works directly with severely overcrowded Shelters and rescue groups in CA, AL. Kauai, and Mexico to transfer dogs in need of rescue help and those who need expanded adoption options out to the Dog loving Portland, OR, metro area. We also help place some local dogs in need of finding forever homes. Because our dogs are in foster homes we get to know the dogs personalities and needs. As we know

the dogs well and how they do in a home environment, we do a great job in matching families with the right dog, and the right family for the dog!

Our little transformer litter is ready to find their forever families!

At 9 weeks old and almost 6 lbs, these little dudes are fun, sweet, and cuddly chihuahua / terrier mixes. Their mom (Chromia) gave birth to them during transport up to our rescue from CA!

They've been learning and experiencing new things everyday, but like all puppies love to play with toys, and cuddle in your lap. Raising a puppy can be a lot of work, and these pups have a great foundation to start thanks to their foster parents that have been teaching them some potty training basics, and building up their confidence as they explore the big new world.

Puppies adopted from Underdogs Rock! Rescue are required to go to force-free puppy classes that we know are essential to providing puppies and their new families with a foundation of guidance and support as they grow up.

Underdog puppies will have their vaccines and microchipped covered, and our rescue covers their spay/neuter when they reach the appropriate age.

Adoption fee is $525. They are being fostered in SE Portland. You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog .
You must be available to meet an Underdog in their foster's location or at your home and dogs are not held for applicants or shipped outside of the Portland metro area. Home checks are also part of the process and can be conducted virtually if needed.

King has found his castle ❤️👑

We are so happy to share that King has found his forever family and settling in wonderfully. According to his new little human sibling he will now be known as “King Toast the Cutie” 🥹❤️

We’re so grateful for our community rallying with us to rescue King, and with your donations and support we were able to make sure we could give King the second chance he deserves and ensure his new home was committed and eyes wide open about his longterm medical needs.

King Toast the Cutie will now spend the rest of his life well spoiled and treated like the royalty he is. He’s been getting lots of cuddles from his family, and has been excited about all the extra snacks his little human siblings give him 😋

$5 Teeth Tuesdays returns!

Philippe & Pierre were surrendered to URR when their human went to assist care. These 15 year bonded boys need heart work ups and then once we got the all clear, they received their dentals. They are happy pups now and have found their forever home!

Please help us keep rescuing senior dogs with dental care needs! Keep out Underdogs Rockin’!

Our Underdogs Rock Shop!

You may already know about our fun shop located at Curios on Hawthorne where we sell new and gently used dog supplies.
We've always wanted a curated shop where we sell local artisans work (not necessarily dog related!) and I thought, what better way then starting with Gretchen Grossaint-Fitz's fabulous pottery!
Maybe you don't know Gretchen? Let me introduce her. Gretchen Grossaint is an art school trained potter and our dear friend, board member and fabulous foster for Underdogs! She makes whimsical and yes, sometimes a wee bit creepy pottery.
As mentioned, we are expanding our little shop at Curios on Hawthorne from carrying all things dog related (and sometimes cats) to include artisan work and small creative companies.
We begin with Gretchen’s pottery including the coolest dog bowls in history.

Because you all are supporters of Underdogs we are offering 35% off any of her works of art in our shop. When checking out, tell them the code is “angels” for your discount. We have priced Gretchen’s art accordingly (art should not be cheap) as she spends a lot of time creating her fine art pottery and we want her to thrive!

King is ready to find his castle and rule over his forever family with kisses and snuggles.
King is a deeply lovable frenchie/pittie mix with a big skooshy head and a heart to match. This 4 yr old, 40 lb dude is a certified cuddle monster, happiest when he’s pressed up against you like a warm, snoring gargoyle. His little piggy eyes, signature meatball waddle, and ridonkulous blep only adds to his charm; this guy is pure joy in a compact, wiggly package.

King came to us from Stockton shelter after being attacked by five large dogs, and was surrendered so the shelter could treat his wounds. He then came to us to ensure his life was saved and he could be in a comfortable foster home to fully heal. Despite this traumatic attack, King still gets along with the friendly calm dogs he meets and has a chill “go with the flow” demeanor. He loves making friends with people and is very sweet with kids. He’s the definition of an easy going companionship: sweet, social, and always ready for affection. He's currently being fostered with 4 small dogs. His foster mom describes him as a big giant baby, and even will sit up on his butt reaching out for a hug and to fall backwards in your lab for cuddles.

While he’s got a gold star personality, his breed mix left him with some genetic health risks that his future family will need to keep an eye on, and be prepared to treat if they possibly worsen throughout his life, but at four years old he’s managed very well, isn’t in pain, and trots along in high spirits! King came to us with a heart murmur and his back leg was still healing from his attack. We took him to several specialists to assess his health. What they found were some congenital defects that at this time don’t require major intervention. When the cardiologist evaluated his heart murmur they found that he was born with a heart defect and is doing well on heart medication and in a year will need a recheck. We’re happy to share these medical records with interested adopters knowing that any dog with pre-existing medical conditions requires important consideration.

King is truly such a sweet special dog who can’t wait to be your snuggle bug, and all of his silly quirks will bring any home a ton of joy. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, meaty‑headed best friend who brings instant warmth to any room, King is ready to rule your couch and your heart.

Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $480. He is being fostered in SE Portland Area.

King has been doing really well in his foster home, and since he's arrived we have had an ortho consult, a neurology consult, and then a cardio consult to answer some questions and concerns he came with!
TLDR; he's a bit of a genetic mess, but these aren't stopping him from living his best life

Our girl Winnie is kicking off spring break with her new family! She’s got two big sisters that she’ll have so much fun with. Her new mom mentioned she found Winnie from our fb video, and while they have been looking for dogs and met several others, they had been looking at dogs available that were between 20-40lb so Winnie wasn’t on their radar…but little did they know they needed 5lbs of extra love 😉

This pretty girl is just pure love, fun, and smarts. She is a breeze on leash, does well in a crate, dog and cat friendly! When we have a dog this good we know it must be because her forever family just hasn’t seen her yet so please help us share her post and let’s get this girl seen!

Meet Winnie, a joyful bouncy border collie cattle dog mix that’s ready to be your very best friend! Winnie is about 45 lbs, and about 3 years old. She is a quick study, very affectionate, and has been learning so much in her foster home.

This cutie patootie is full of sweetness and puppy energy that’s very endearing. She loves to cuddle and crawl into your lap. She’s equally goofy and so proud of herself when she’s showing off her tricks. Her foster mom says she reminds her of a kangaroo bc she loves to use her paws and often stands or sits up on her back legs! Toys are her very favorite things, and she often plays with them by herself.

Winnie will do best in a home where she has a dog buddy to play with and a home that’s got an active lifestyle that she can be a part of. The right family will want to continue training with her as she truly thrives with structure and direction (very true for her breed ). A home with a fence yard would be great so she can play and run freely.

She gets along really well with their resident dog, and has been pretty neutral towards the family cat! When left alone at home she does great her in crate, and her foster mom doesn’t work from home so she's comfortable being alone over 4+ hours. She takes treats very gently, and knows a range of tricks: down, sit, look at me, kennel, come, up top (she gives you two hi fives!), go lie down, and drop it! She is great on leash, and in her video you can see she has been doing great in learning to stay close off leash that her foster mom is practicing in a fenced area. We mentioned she’s a quick study right??

If you’re looking for an adventure buddy that’s sweet as honey, smart, and affectionate with a solid start in training Winnie’s your girl!
