The photos that our customer John L sends us of his creations always make me drool... This time he made a hyper-local pasta dish with red kale micros, sundried tomatoes and pesto from the garden. Thanks for sharing John!

We had to go to plan B this week. Instead of the amaranth that ended up being less than stellar this week, there is a bit more of a hodge lodge going out: salad mix (with broccoli, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi and radishes), or Asian mix (radish, broccoli and saltwort), or an herb mix (chervil and fennel), red Russian kale or purple sprouting broccoli, and our purple mix for all (cabbage and kohlrabi). This is why we always grow some back-ups!

This week's little varieties: A herb mix (with fennel and chervil), a legume mix (with mung bean, pea shoots, and lentils), a spicy mix (with radish and mustard), collards, dill and collards.

Next week's microgreens for Farmageddon Growers' Collective are going to have a little something extra. In addition to the regular worm castings and kelp meal this late decided it wanted to get in on the action too!
I will admit that I feel pretty hardcore seeding outside in a snowstorm

Mighty Seedlings is a small indoor urban farm in SE Portland that sells subscription boxes of naturally grown live microgreens to hyper-local customers within a 3-mile radius of our farm (to zip codes 97202, 97206, 97214 and 97215). We delivery boxes to customers' homes weekly.
We specialize in delivering live microgreens that are still growing (rather than cut) to ensure that our customers receive the freshest, most nutritious produce.
Microgreens are a highly nutrient-dense, and sustainable option to include greens in your diet during the winter. Microgreens can easily be included in salads, sandwiches, smoothies, or even some warm dishes such as stir-fries or soups.
We focus on the fall, winter, and spring seasons to fill the gap left during the off-season with traditional CSAs. Even winter CSAs usually provide limited greens.
We also focus on waste reduction. We reuse or compost everything that our customers don't eat and since our microgreens are grown to order, food waste is very limited.
