For us, it’s never about checking a walk off a list. It’s about sending dogs home a little happier than we found them—and you can’t fake this kind of happy. 💗

🐾 Hiring a Pet Sitter? Here’s What Many People Don’t Think to Ask…

Every summer and school break, community groups fill up with people offering pet sitting, dog walking, and house sitting services. Some are experienced professionals. Others are simply looking to earn some extra money.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with someone wanting to work.

But there’s a big difference between loving animals and being professionally prepared to care for them.

Before inviting anyone into your home or trusting them with your pets, consider asking:

✔️ Are they insured and bonded?

✔️ Do they have pet first aid and CPR training?

✔️ What experience do they have with senior pets, medications, behavioral challenges, or emergencies?

✔️ What happens if your pet becomes ill or injured while you’re away?

✔️ Do they have references from long-term clients?

✔️ Do they have backup plans if they’re sick, injured, or have a family emergency?

✔️ Do they use a written service agreement outlining expectations and responsibilities?

✔️ How do they secure your home and protect your keys?

✔️ Will they recognize signs of bloat, heat stroke, urinary blockage, toxicity, seizures, or other medical emergencies?

✔️ Do they know when a situation requires immediate veterinary attention versus when it’s appropriate to monitor?

Professional pet sitters don’t just care for healthy, easy pets. They regularly encounter situations involving diabetic pets, insulin injections, seizure disorders, senior pets with mobility challenges, medication administration, escape-prone animals, fearful or reactive dogs, wildlife encounters, heat emergencies, gastrointestinal illness, toxic plants or foods, and even home emergencies like power outages, burst pipes, or storm damage.

Many emergencies aren’t dramatic. They begin with subtle changes that an experienced pet care professional recognizes because they’ve seen them before. Often, it’s the ability to notice those small changes—and know how to respond—that makes the biggest difference.

Professional pet care isn’t simply feeding a pet, taking a walk, or letting a dog outside. It’s recognizing when something isn’t right and having the knowledge, training, experience, and preparation to respond appropriately.

Your pets are family. Choosing someone based solely on the lowest price or because they’re available today can become a very expensive decision if something unexpected happens.

When interviewing any pet sitter—whether they’re an individual, a professional business, or someone recommended by a friend—don’t be afraid to ask questions. A qualified pet care provider will welcome them because they understand that your trust is something that should be earned, not assumed.

The right pet sitter isn’t necessarily the cheapest, the closest, or the first person available. They’re the person who’s prepared for the day everything goes according to plan—and the day it doesn’t.

Because when you’re away, peace of mind isn’t just about knowing someone will show up. It’s about knowing your pets, your home, and the unexpected are all in capable hands.

Three years ago today. 💗
Looking back at these photos is bittersweet. At the time, we were taking things one day at a time, hoping for as many good moments as possible. Looking at these photos now, I can still see the sparkle in your eyes despite everything you were facing.

Since then, our sweet Swagger has crossed the rainbow bridge, but the love you left behind never will. You taught us so much about resilience, unconditional love, and finding joy even on the hardest days. I’m forever grateful for every extra moment, every cuddle, every silly face, and every memory we shared together.

I’d give anything for one more cuddle, one more silly face, one more day.

We miss you every single day, handsome boy. Until we meet again. 🌈🐾🤍

Some relationships are measured in years, not visits. 💗

Every family is different.
Every pet is different.
And every relationship we build looks a little different, too.

These two happy faces may be sharing a photo, but they’re from two completely different families.

For five years, we’ve had the privilege of caring for Eden. For four years, Bella has been part of the Daisy Care family.

Although their care needs are completely different, both families share something in common: over the years, they’ve placed their trust in Daisy Care to care for some of the most important members of their family. That trust wasn’t built overnight—it was earned through consistency, communication, reliability, and genuinely caring for each pet as an individual.

To us, that’s one of the greatest compliments we can receive—not simply being chosen once, but being welcomed back year after year.

We believe the very best pet care isn’t built in a single visit. It’s built over months and years of showing up, earning trust, learning every little personality and routine, and becoming a trusted, familiar part of your pet’s routine—and a source of peace of mind for you.

Those lasting relationships are at the heart of everything we do.

As we continue to thoughtfully grow, we’re excited to welcome a few additional weekday recurring dog walking clients in the Biddeford and S**o areas.

If you’re looking for more than someone to simply stop by—someone who will truly get to know your dog, provide consistent, dependable care, and become a trusted, familiar part of your pet’s routine—we’d love to connect and learn more about your family.

☀️ The heat wave called for a few extra staycation perks! 🍦🐾

Ghost & Daisy are currently enjoying two weeks of in-home overnight care with Daisy Care, and one thing is for sure… these two knew exactly how to enjoy a frozen pup cup! 😋

Finding little ways to spoil our staycation guests is one of our favorite parts of what we do, and seeing those happy faces makes it all worthwhile. 💗

Now we have to know… How did your pets beat the heat? Frozen treats? Kiddie pools? Sprinklers? Extra A/C naps? Tell us in the comments—or even better, share a photo! We’d love to see how your furry family members stayed cool. ☀️🐶🐱

🇺🇸 Happy Fourth of July from Daisy Care! 🐾❤️

Today, we’re especially grateful for the freedoms we often get to enjoy with the people—and pets—we love most.

While many families are spending the day celebrating, grilling, traveling, or watching fireworks, I’ll be spending mine doing what I love: making sure your furry family members are safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while you’re making memories of your own.

It’s truly a privilege to be trusted with so many incredible pets, especially on holidays when dependable care matters most. Thank you for allowing Daisy Care to be a small part of your family’s celebrations.

Wishing you, your families, and your four-legged loved ones a safe, peaceful, and joyful Fourth of July. May your day be filled with laughter, wonderful memories, and plenty of tail wags along the way.

Happy Independence Day! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

The photo we’ve all been waiting for. 🤍🥂

Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love, laughter, and… of course… reliable pet care. 🐾😉

We’re just happy Taylor remembered what really mattered before saying “I do.”

First… call to watch Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button. 😸💕 Then the wedding.

Congratulations, you two! 🤍✨
