Baby bunny season is still a few months away for us here in the Pacific Northwest, but it's never too soon to remind everybunny to LEAVE THE BABIES IN THE NEST! Mama rabbits don't sit on the nest, but they're close by. If you accidentally disturb a rabbit nest, simply cover the nest back up and leave it alone. If you're not sure if the nest is actually abandoned, place four sticks in a cross-hatch pattern on the nest overnight. If the sticks are moved in the morning, mama has been back to nurse her kits. If you're worried about your dog or cat disturbing the nest, build a little cage over the nest that mama can squeeze through. Our wild bunnies are only in the nest for three weeks before they're old enough to hop out into the world on their own.

$5 (or more) Friday!

Please help us welcome Bernard! Bernard is our 16th intake so far this year. He was transferred to us from a municipal shelter because he was growling and lunging at the shelter staff. This "cage aggression" can occur when rabbits and other small companion animals are kept in loud and crowded spaces. We're confident Bernard (we're so close to calling him "Bernie"!) will calm down and enjoy being around the other spayed and neutered rabbits in our quiet and spacious Bunny Palace, and that we can find a family to adopt him into his "furever" home.

We weren't the only rescue partner the municipal shelter contacted about Bernard, but we were the only one that responded. Our foster homes are full and we are overwhelmed, but we continue to do our best to rescue and care for our abandoned rabbits. Please donate what you can via Venmo or PayPal through the links in our bio. Thanks for helping us help our rescued rabbits!

✨HOP & FLOW: BUNNIES & PILATES✨
We had such an incredible event on Saturday! Michelle over at taught two classes. The first class was a Pilates Mat Class that focused on core strength, flexibility, and mindful alignment. The second class was a Myofascial Rolling Class meant to release muscular tension, soothe fascia, and enhance recovery. Michelle offers both classes at her studio, but this event featured (the added challenge of 😉) some of our outgoing rescued rabbits! Let me tell you, the rabbits had an absolute blast. I know this is a long one, but considering I got nearly TEN MINUTES of adorable rabbit footage, I'd say an under three minute video is a success. 😅 Thank you again to everyone who participated, and thank you to our lovely volunteers who brought their foster rabbits, and helped make sure every bunny was safe during the event. ❤️

One step closer. Rabbits can now fly IN THE CABIN to and fro within the continental United States (that includes Alaska), and within Hawaii and FROM Hawaii to the mainland.

On 1/14/26, Alaska Airlines reinstated its in-cabin pet policy for domestic rabbits. We confirmed this update last week for the continental United States and Alaska. While we shared our excitement and gratitude many of you have asked about Hawaii.

We’re happy to share that we have now confirmed with our contact that rabbits will once again be able to fly in-cabin from Hawaii to the Mainland United States and within Hawaii. However, traveling to Hawaii will still require rabbits to fly in cargo, at least for now.

LetBunniesFly understands how critical Hawaii travel is—especially for military families facing relocation—and we have continued to highlight the serious challenges this policy has created for local rescues, including Betterbunny Hawaii , where relocation barriers have contributed to an escalating stray crisis.
While this is a huge step forward, our work is not done. We will continue collaborating with Better Bunny Hawaii, regulatory bodies in Hawaii, and Alaska Airlines to address and remove the remaining barriers.

For now, we are incredibly grateful to Alaska Airlines for listening, engaging, and giving us a seat at the table—helping us keep our rabbits safe, protected, and with their families. We hope for other airlines to follow suit and do what is right.
