After seven incredible years on Martha’s Vineyard, Al Fresco Tails is hitting the road.

We’re taking a little pause while we make our way across the country, settle into our new home, and dream up what’s next for AFT 🫶

Martha’s Vineyard will always be where this whole wild adventure began — the dogs, the people, the trails, the beaches, and a community that turned our little idea into something bigger than we ever imagined. We’re taking all of that with us.

One last Vineyard summer 🥹🌊💜

And what a beautiful one it was.

Bittersweet, joyful, lots of adorable shenanigans, and filled with more love than we could ever fit into one post. Sunny strolls, salty swims, beach days, muddy paws, goofy grins, golden hour adventures, and a whole lot of cute 🐶🐻🦊🐼

For seven summers, we’ve had the incredible privilege of exploring this island alongside your pups. This final one felt extra special. We knew we were saying goodbye, so somehow every familiar trail, ocean breeze, happy wag, and smiling face meant just a little bit more.

Martha’s Vineyard will always be part of the Al Fresco Tails story, and part of us 💜

There are some decisions in life that are both incredibly exciting and incredibly hard. This is one of them. ❤️

After almost seven years of building a life, a business, and a community we love so deeply on Martha’s Vineyard, we’ve made the big decision to relocate to Portland, Oregon 🌲🌈

The Vineyard wasn’t the first home of Al Fresco Tails, but it was where we truly found our stride — growing a little pet-care business into a life, a livelihood, and a community beyond anything we imagined. 🐾

This Island gave us so much: winding dirt roads, salt air, wild beaches, muddy trails, ferry rides, snowy mornings, summer adventures, and an extraordinary community of people and animals who welcomed us in and trusted us with what they loved most.

We’ve watched puppies grow up and old friends slow down. We’ve walked through snowstorms, summer heat, muddy springs, and more windy Island days than we can count. We’ve celebrated, laughed, worried, grieved, and fallen completely in love with so many animals along the way.

It has been an enormous privilege 🫶

We explored selling Al Fresco Tails and hoped someone might carry its spirit forward here on the Island. Ultimately, that didn’t work out. And while it was hard to accept, we’re learning that we don’t need to know exactly what comes next.

Like the Vineyard’s tides, life moves in and out 🌊 We’re trusting the current, giving ourselves time to settle into Portland, and seeing what wants to grow from there ❤️

Leaving is bittersweet. We’ll miss our clients, furry friends, favorite places, and the incredible Island community we’ve been lucky enough to call home.

Because the Vineyard taught us to treasure its wild places, we hope you’ll continue supporting Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation, the Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank, and The Trustees 🌿

Martha’s Vineyard will always hold a huge piece of our hearts. Thank you for nearly seven unforgettable years of Al Fresco Tails, and for being part of our story.

Here’s to everything this chapter gave us, and to whatever comes next 🥹🐾

☀️ Hello, Summer! 🌊🐾

⛴️ The ferries are full, the hydrangeas are blooming, and the salty Vineyard air is calling us outside. From early morning beach walks and shady woodland trails to ice cream stops and sunset strolls through town, summer has officially arrived on Martha’s Vineyard—and we couldn’t be happier about it 🏖️

This season, we’re looking forward to wagging tails, sandy snoots, friendly faces, and all the little moments that make island life so special. Whether your pup loves a woodland sniffari, a downtown adventure, or simply soaking up the sunshine, we’re here to help them make the most of every summer day ☀️
