TOLL ROAD MISSION COMPLETE !!! All babies and moms are safely together!!! In total there were 4 babies , and their feral mom , 4 other adult ferals , 2 other feral older kittens ,, It took a lot of hours , a lot of persistence , and a whole lot of patience waiting,, lots wooded areas , holes and places to crawl through BUT we are so thankful they are safe !!!!

We would like to clear something up in case it is not clear already. Portage Animal Control does respond to sick and injured cats when called about them. They are currently unable to come for healthy stray cats. We are aware that some people online are making false claims that Animal Control will not come for any cats. We do not know why someone would say that, but it is not true and anyone saying that is not a member of Hagrid's Hope and does not speak for our organization. We have talked with the mayor and he is aware that we understand what Animal Control policies curent are and we are willing and excited to work together on how we can help the city in areas where they are not currently able to assist. ,,
We as Hagrid’s Hope have 3 people on our board that are James, Jennifer, and Kate, if you have any questions about issues please contract of us directly .

Hello everyone , this is Jennifer. Just wanted to update you- we are currently doing a rather large rescue mission right now removing 20-23 cats at a residence. Sorry if we are delayed in contact emails and questions ..
Also, we have a wonderful gentleman who has been a long time supporter of Hagrid’s Hope . His name is Frank Newton ,, if you can send him some good thoughts , wishes , and prayers for his upcoming heart surgery . He donated our rescue t shirts and has supported us for well over a year now . Shout out here on this thread to Frank , Hagrid’s Hope Cat Rescue is cheering for you and wishing you a well recovery .. 🐾🐈‍⬛

Every rescue has a story, but we'd like to share a list of some of the rescues we've made in the the last year.

Portage residents have called us for help when:

- cats have been abandoned on a resident’s property or in their neighborhood
- momma cats have had kittens under a homeowner’s porch/deck
- cats have been thrown from cars, or caught in a hunting trap
- residents find cats that are injured, disabled, sick, or abused
- people needed help to get their own cats out of a home’s crawl space, rafters, or heating duct, or a car engine. We even got a cat down from the owner’s roof.
- a local hotel needed help catching a cat that was loose in the hotel
- a cat had kittens near the toll road, and three of the kittens had already been hit and killed
- a realtor finds that cats have been left behind in a property that is for sale
- a family can no longer keep a cat due to a death, illness or financial problems
- a baby kitten needed help for medical needs , eye removal, otherwise would of been euthanized
