We are maxed out on space and without fosters stepping up I can't take anymore in. Tonight at midnight was our last intake until we get more help . We are dwindling down on litter and supplies . We now have 16 cats awaiting spay and neuter . We appreciate all of you that have helped us this far . If you would like to foster send us a text at 2193094484 and someone will be in contact . Vet Check day and shots for some new babies and then their new friend visiting them!! We love raising our kittens around children and other pets . They get great socialization skills this way!

We have been trying to find a way to do a quick fundraiser . We have over 17 kittens now that are going to need spayed and neutered . We won't be able to take in more until this is done and more are adopted . Follow up on Labor Day weekend for a fun time.. we will be having a large yard sale followed with slushies and popcorn .., some adoptable kittens ....and you can meet Hagrid's Huggables . Hello friends .. we have yet another wave of bad news .. we have a baby that has been with her foster mommy since the beginning however she was just diagnosed with FIP.. her name is Daisy and her foster home loves her to pieces . We as a rescue are limited on how much we can do on our own per kitten as we have lots to tend too. Is anyone out there willing to sponsor her if I order her the FIP meds ? They are pricey as I've shown before . We are talking close to 700 for the first 30 days and 700 for the second round .. Daisy is presented today with fluid in her abdomen and her liver being affected . The veternarian we use feels confident we have a window of time to start meds if we do them soon we can save her . We are asking for any help at all if you can . Private message us if you can help. If you feel more comfortable with donating through pay pal we can send payment to the stokes pharmacy .

If you're thinking of getting into animal rescue, here's something you need to know:

You need to build armor, not just for the hard work, but for the people.

You’ll need more than compassion. You’ll need resilience. You’ll need to remind yourself daily why you started, because the world will test you.

People will cheer you on when you post a happy rescue story. But when you say no, because your rescue is full, your funds are low, or your team is exhausted, those same voices will criticize you.

They’ll forget the animals you saved and focus on the one you couldn’t take.

Don’t let it change your heart.

Some people will praise your care, your process, your kindness, until they want to surrender a pet, and you ask questions or try to help them work through it. Suddenly, you’re the worst person for them.

That’s part of the job.

You’ll lose relationships. Some friends won’t understand why you fight for animal rights. Others will be cold to you when you’re being too dramatic for them after spending the night with a dying rescue.

Let them go.

People will call you every hour, message you at 2am, expect you to be available around the clock. And when you finally pause to breathe, they’ll say you’re fake, you don’t care.

It’ll sting, but keep breathing anyway.

Other rescuers will criticize how you operate, even if they’ve never set foot in your rescue. Some will help. Others will just talk.

Focus on the work, not the noise.

You’ll see things you can’t unsee. You’ll witness cruelty. And sometimes, no matter how fast you get there or how much you spend, you’ll still lose the animal.

Those are the nights you’ll sit and cry alone, and no one knows that.

But even in that pain, you’ll keep going.
Because despite all of it, the judgment, the burnout, the loss, the work matters.

Every life saved is a reason to continue.

Rescue is beautiful, heartbreaking, and unforgiving. But if you’re in it for the right reasons, you’ll find strength in the heartbreak and purpose in the pain.

Just don’t lose yourself in the process. ❤️

Scarlett update : I am relieved to report she finally ate today and is much more herself. She still has about 50 more days to go with her FIP treatment. I was starting to doubt myself if it was even the right decision to try these meds .. she was feeling so miserable . However I see fight left in our girl so we will
Stand behind her !!
