We are very sorry about our absence on social media these past months. We have been thinking about the direction we need to go with the sanctuary and our animal residents.

We have not taken in any large animals in the past few years. We could not commit to caring for animals that could possibly outlive our ability to care for them. That time seems to be approaching faster than we anticipated.

Mark, my husband & cofounder, has been diagnosed with a debilitating disease (DISH) that is beginning to affect his day-to-day life. DISH affects people in various ways. Unfortunately for Mark, his legs often give out causing him to fall. Having DISH makes him more susceptible to spine fractures. IF he were to be seriously hurt, we would no longer be able to financially care for the animals.

We want to get ahead of this to ensure the safety of the animals.

We found a wonderful home for the alpaca, Queen & Pandora, near Allentown, PA. We receive videos and pictures frequently. Both the alpaca are thriving and look at home with their new herd & humans. They recently celebrated Pandora's 15th birthday! Thank you & family! You can check out their picture from their new family in the comments.

Shangri-La FARM Sanctuary was gracious enough to take in the sheep, Brewster and Aries. They are also doing well. You can see them on Shangri-la's social media. Thank you Shangri-La FARM Sanctuary !

As for the other animals, we hope to find safe, loving placements for most of them as well. If not, they will remain with us.

We want to thank our amazing volunteers, donors and supporters for all their hard work and support!!!

Last week we had to say good-bye to our dear Sillouette.
She spent most of her time with her herd mates. At 20 years old she couldn't always keep up and would lay with the sheep when she needed to rest.
She was a no nonsense girl at the hay rack. Despite the other animals being much younger and stronger, they knew not to mess with her while she was eating.
We will all miss her presence here at SNHFAS.

The first snow of the season.
While our fleeced friends don't mind the snow, our feathered friends would rather bury their heads and dream of summer.
