Floating the "feral horse." More like misunderstood. Sometimes it just takes calm confidence to build trust and patience. 🐴 ❤️ I loved that I was able to speak the same language as this mare and get her mouth right. That's what its all about.

Incisor removed from a 26 year old horse with EOTRH. This horse was rescued and was dropping lots of food, eating slow, and slowly gaining weight. Upon dental exam I found multiple cheek ulcers on both sides of the cheeks due to sharp teeth and unfortunately this horse had EOTRH. EOTRH stands for Equine Odontoclastic Tooth Resorption and Hypercementosis and affects the incisors and canines (if its a male horse). What happens is the incisive root resorbs and basically gets "eaten away" while the gumline receeds exposing more of the underlying diseased tooth root. This disease can be painful in its progressed stage and this tooth was ready to come out. After floating the teeth and removal of this affected incisor the horse immediately went to eating his grain and didnt even lift his head out of the bowl! Thats what its all about 🐴💕🦷

Wiggly mandibular premolar 306 in a 22 year old Mare today. This one came out fairly easily with the help of some molar pullers with a pulley action and my fingers to do the rest 🐴😊 short tooth root=end stage tooth. The mare went right back to eating like nothing happened.
