Friends of Felines in Calvert County

Friends of Felines in Calvert County 501c3 group of volunteers to help the cat population in our county. We TNRM, rescue from dangerous situations, and adopt out cats and kittens.

Friends of Felines' focus is on rescuing free roaming or abandoned cats and placing them in managed colonies or permanent homes. Working with property owners and families throughout Calvert County Maryland, we help curb cat overpopulation at its source by providing a humane alternative to euthanasia. Our objective is to decrease the number of displaced cats and work alongside other rescue groups,

Animal Control and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in our shared goal to make Calvert County a place where healthy stray cats are given a better future. All the cats we trap or rescue are tested for feline leukemia and aids. They are spayed or neutered and given all their shots. They are micro- chipped for later identification. The cats that are returned to managed colonies are ear-tipped so Animal Control personnel know they have been vetted. By employing methods of trap, neuter, return and maintain (TNRM) we provide citizens with the tools and the training to care for cats on their own property after they have been fully vetted. The cats that can be socialized are placed in our volunteer foster homes. Our foster families create a nurturing environment for each cat and kitten until they are adopted. We have volunteer adoption teams that hold adoption events on a weekly basis. Semi-domestic cats are placed in barn homes throughout Maryland and Virginia. Meet Evie!

Evie had a rough start to life and yet still loves people and other cats provided they are not bullies. She has that perfect medium demeanor of not being a bully but also confident. Evie is a beautiful young lady about 1 1/2 years old. She loves to cuddle, give head butts and receive scratches. She is a very relaxed kitty when being held and very gentle not using her claws on her people. Evie is outgoing and easily adaptable to new things. She is a great bug exterminator and loves to play. Evie is a rare find that any family would love. Being a young adult she has already shown what her beautiful personality is. Evie is spayed, microchipped, tested for FIV and FELV, fully vaccinated and ready for her PURRRFECT FUREVER HOME.

If you would like to adopt Evie, please fill out an application on our website at www.fofcats.com and email to [email protected]

***Adopted***

Meet Nacho, “The Nacho Man”. He is a 2 year old cat that loves to cuddle. What makes him cool is that he will follow you around all day. He is unique in that he was born without a tail!!! Nacho is being fostered in a home with small dogs. Nacho is known to dislike big dogs. Nacho is playful and friendly. He really enjoys human friends. He would be a great addition to a home with playful cats or in a home where he would get lots of attention. If you enjoy cuddles and a playful cat you will LOVE Nacho. He is very cheesy.
