Day 2 of hatch lockdown and these little quail are popping like popcorn over here. 🐣 I’m estimating close to 200 chicks hatched so far, but I won’t know the final survivor count until lockdown is officially over. So far it’s looking VERY promising and I’m beyond excited.

This crew is the future of Fetch & Feathers Farm — bringing more fresh quail eggs, quail balut, and educational hatching kits for classrooms, homeschoolers, and curious little farmers alike. 💛🥚

Okay… I think we finally did it. 🐾🪶

After about four logo revisions, a few artistic debates, surprise pigeons, and a whole lot of tweaking, I think Fetch & Feathers Farm finally found its look. 😂

And honestly? I love that this page gets to show the process — not just the polished finish. This farm is being built piece by piece, animal by animal, idea by idea, and you all are getting to watch it come to life right alongside me.

This logo finally feels like *us*:
🐕 the dogs
🪶 the birds
🥚 the hatch kits
🌲 the farm vibe
❤️ the chaos and creativity behind it all

The store isn’t officially open yet, the educational hatch kits are still being finalized, and the farm is still growing… but this right here feels like the beginning of something really special.

Welcome to Fetch & Feathers Farm. 🐣

I’m a day behind on getting my post out!

This week has been BUSY here at Fetch & Feathers Farm. I’ve been working hard getting the website up and running so everything is finally starting to come together online. The site now includes laying schedules, incubation timelines, balut information, and information on the upcoming educational hatch kit programs, which I’m REALLY excited to share soon.

I’ve also had several contractors out this week looking at estimates for the perimeter fencing project. The fencing project is not only important for the emus so they can have more room to run, play, and hopefully get those beautiful eggs going this coming season, but it’s also a major part of enclosing and finishing the private dog park to help create a safe environment for the dogs that come visit, play, exercise, and train.

The arborists are also coming in to drop wood chips for the dog park, and I’ve been spending a lot of time doing landscaping work on my mini crawler. I’ll post a picture soon… and don’t laugh too hard when you see me driving it. 😂

And the baby quail have officially started hatching! They began about a day and a half ago, and I’ll be taking videos tonight to post tomorrow morning because they are just too cute not to share.

Even though it’s a lot of work, I’m still completely motivated and very excited about where all of this is headed. Thank you for following along while I continue building this dream one project at a time. I can’t wait to show you all the cool things I have planned for Fetch & Feathers Farm!

Definitely need to get better at posting on Facebook and my other social media pages, but I have been BUSY around the farm lately!

I recently started all of my birds on a new diet that consists of no soy and no corn. I’ll be posting the ingredients here in the next day or so so everybody can see what my birds are eating. I won’t be giving out ratios, but I do want people to know what goes into the feed.

The chickens are doing well and laying beautifully.

My extra-large quail are also growing expeditiously, and I’m excited to say I’m looking toward the end of July or the beginning of August for fresh quail eggs and balut becoming available.

The ducks are doing wonderful too, and I’m currently anticipating fresh duck eggs around August, with duck balut hopefully becoming available toward the end of September. I put a tremendous amount of research into selecting this duck breed because I wanted one of the most flavorful and delicious eggs possible. As far as balut goes, this breed is the closest I could possibly get to the traditional Filipino duck without importing. It honestly took me almost two months of research, and I’m extremely excited to finally experience and share these eggs.

I’ve submitted applications for the farmers markets in Bremerton and Gig Harbor, and I’m still trying to get into the Silverdale Farmers Market as well — fingers crossed! I’m really looking forward to getting back out there and reintroducing myself to my local communities and surrounding towns. It’s been far too long. The area has grown so much since the last time I was actively out there doing business and participating in the markets, so I’m really excited about reconnecting with everyone again.

The dog park is coming along great! Arborists have been dropping off wood chips, and I’ve been actively working to get everything prepared. There is still a lot of groundwork and setup happening behind the scenes, but equipment is starting to arrive and things are finally beginning to come together. I’m now aiming for an August opening for the dog park.

There’s a tremendous amount of work going on every single day as I continue transforming this property into something really special and beautiful. I truly appreciate everyone’s patience, encouragement, and support while everything continues to grow.

More photos and updates coming soon! 🐓🦆🐾🌿

Big progress happening here at Fetch & Feathers Farm 🌿

And no… that’s not weeds out there—that’s us putting in the work.

We had Daisy Home Services come out and help us move trees, open things up, and bring this space back to life—and wow… what a difference.

✔️ Trees moved and cleared
✔️ Path cut down to the training field
✔️ Training field opened up and leveled

What used to feel crowded and overgrown is now turning into something we can really use.

It’s still muddy, still a work in progress—but this is what building something real looks like.

Huge thank you to Daisy Home Services for helping us make it happen.

This is just the beginning
